Paper Bag Crafts

Hello Mom Endeavors readers, my name is Andrea and I blog over at my little slice of the internet at Worley House– A lifestyle blog sharing my passion for creativity and my thoughts on motherhood & life. I’m excited today to be sharing some fun uses for brown paper bags with you today.

Brown paper bags aren’t just for packing your kiddos lunches anymore! I’ve rounded up some awesome ways to repurpose those brown paper bags into really fun crafts and DIY projects. DIY Disney Craft: Disney Map Placemats

DIY Disney Map Placemat

While the Mom Endeavors family is off enjoying their visit to Disney World, I’m here sharing a fun DIY Disney project to bring your vacation memories home. My husband, daughter, and I visit Disneyland frequently and get excited each time we think of our next visit. Last month we spent a few days in the Huntington Beach area and were able to spend an entire day in Disneyland. I brought home a couple of park maps and turned them into placemats. DIY Disney Map Placemat

The placemats were very easy to make and have given us hours of conversation at the dinner table.

Supplies:

  • clear contact paper
  • Disney park map

Disneyland Map Placemat (2)Measure and cut two pieces of contact paper large enough to cover the entire map.
Disneyland Map Placemat (3)Cover each side of the map with contact paper and trim the edges.

Disneyland Map Placemat (4)Add your favorite Disney plate and you are ready for a fun family dinner!

Disneyland Map Placemat (5)My daughter has also been using the placemat while playing with play-doh.

These easy placemats can be made with any attraction map to preserve your vacation memories. Disney has a big selection of park maps and you could easily have different placemats for every holiday or season!

What map would you like to turn into a placemat?

DIY Disney Shirts!

DIY Disney Shirts

If you following on instagram or twitter, then you’ve likely seen all of our DIY Disney craziness lately! With our trip to Disney World coming up, I could NOT resist doing some DIY outfits for the boys, especially since I’m all about the boys having matching and coordinating as much as possible! ;) Last year around this time, I shared my DIY Disney Crafts Roundup post which ended up being the #1 post of last year! It’s been pinned more than 35,000 times!! WHOA! Disney Crafts RoundupOne of the many projects that I loved from the roundup but hadn’t gotten around to making yet was matching personalized Disney shirts for the boys like these from Random Thoughts of a Supermom. So, since Young House Love issued their spring pinterest challenge…and we’re going to Disney World for the Disney Social Media Moms Conference, this was the perfect opportunity to make some! :) DIY Disney ShirtsSqueee!!! I LOVE them!!!! I’ll be posting more detailed tutorials of some of our Disney projects after the trip (I’m too busy packing & packing to get everything posted right now ;) ), so stay tuned for that. But, overall, the general process was pretty similar to the ones on Random Thoughts of a Supermom. One major difference is that I used iron-on interfacing/fusible webbing for the Mickey heads instead of spray adhesive. So, mine are no-sew! Also, I used a cotton print fabric I found at Hobby Lobby instead of felt. The text was done on my Silhouette using heat-transfer! It was my first time using it and it was SO easy! I couldn’t believe it! I definitely recommend!

My mom (the one with all the sewing skills) has been working on some projects for us too. The boys have matching Star Wars outfits and I’ve got some cute new headbands! :) Super excited! Needless to say, my mom and I both have been busy!

DIY Disney CraftsIf you want to see the new clothes in action, be sure to follow along on instagram and/or twitter! I’ll be using the #DisneySMMoms hashtag! Stay tuned for some tutorials coming here on Mom Endeavors and also on Disney Mentor Moms! In the meantime, you can get lots of Disney craft inspiration on the DIY Disney roundup!

Favorite stylish, yet functional baby products! #HuggiesTester

Stylish & functional baby products

As a Huggies Tester, I’ve been sharing some baby product picks with you lately. First up was our favorite “clean baby, happy baby” picks! Now, we’ve got a little roundup of some products where “function meets fashion”! All of these products are stylish, yet still functional! They’re a win-win if you’re not wanting baby products that stick out of your regular fashion & decor looks! Stylish & functional baby products1. Diaper bags! A diaper bag is a must with a baby. But, it doesn’t have to be ugly or babyish. There are SO many stylish diaper bags out there. And, you can definitely find stylish options for a fairly reasonable price–definitely under $100!

2. Designer ergobaby carrier. I love babywearing. It is so nice to be able to have your hands free to get things done while you’re carrying baby. The designer ergobaby carriers have some great fashionable prints, yet are super comfortable and functional!

3. aden + anais bamboo swaddlers. These are one of my favorite things! In fact, even though we are long done with swaddling Baby Brother, they are still my go-to blanket to take places. Lightweight, big, comfortable, soft, functional, with stylish prints! You can’t go wrong with these!

4. Ah goo baby plush pad. We got one of these when Baby Brother was born. It’s great for tummy time and diaper changes, yet is super cute!

5. Onfour babyhome. We reviewed the babyhome baby seat last fall and it is definitely much more stylish than many baby seats. Yet, it’s really functional too. It’s a good pick for a baby seat at home if you want something that doesn’t stand out so much.

6. Huggies® Designer Wipes Tubs.  In the “clean baby, happy baby” post, I shared with you about the HUGGIES Natural Care® Wipes. Well, those Natural Care® wipes have a new Designer look and it really does almost fits in as decoration in your living room due to the sleek design. Check out the different in the tubs: Huggies Natural Care Wipes #HuggiesTesterThe new Huggies® Designer Wipes Tub is much sleeker than the old tub! I love that it isn’t as bulky and it has a nice design. Here’s an example in the a living room of how these wipes can just sort of blend into the normal room decor. Packing Beauty Products

Disclosure: This post is sponsored by #JergensNaturalGlow. However, as always, all opinions and experiences are entirely my own.

It’s Travel Tuesday! And, today’s edition is all about packing and beauty products! For bloggers, we’re in the midst of “conference season”. And, for me specifically, we’re headed to Disney World for the Disney Social Media Moms Conference this week, so I’m completely immersed in all things packing! Packing Beauty Products I try to travel lite and pack as little as possible. When it comes to beauty products & accessories, I’m rather low-maintenance! But, there are still a few beauty product must-haves that I’ll be taking along with us on our trip above and beyond just the normal necessity products like make-up, toothbrushes, etc. After all, you don’t want to completely change up your beauty regime when you’re on the road. So, check out the video to catch a peek into our suitcases and see what my 5 beauty product must-haves are!
I’m hopeful that my product picks for our trip will help keep me looking & feeling my best! I’ve really been impressed with the Jergens Natural Glow products I received. I think it’s probably going to become a new part of my beauty routine year round! :) Jergens Natural Glow
