“It’s time to play the music; It’s time to light the lights; It’s time to meet the Muppets…” Do you love the Muppets? I do! I remember watching the Muppet Show and various Muppet movies as a kid! So many fun memories! So, I was thrilled to create a fun little project as part of a sponsored campaign with Disney for the the latest film, Muppets Most Wanted. We didn’t get a chance to see it in the theater. But, it comes out on DVD on August 12th and it’s HILARIOUS!!! Here’s the official synopsis:
Two Frogs! One Pig! Intrigue! Music! Mayhem! Muppets! There’s plenty of fun for the whole family as Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Animal and the entire Muppets gang head out on a world tour. But mayhem follows the Muppets, as they find themselves unwittingly entangled in an international crime caper. Now Kermit is behind bars at the mercy of prison warden Nadya (Tina Fey), and the World’s Number One Criminal, Constantine—a dead ringer for Kermit—has taken his place.
As Constantine and his dastardly sidekick Dominic (Ricky Gervais) plot the robbery of the century, they are pursued by Sam Eagle and Interpol agent Jean Pierre Napoleon (Ty Burrell). Will Constantine get away with his nefarious scheme? Will Kermit escape in time to save the day? Packed with dozens of guest cameos, new songs and the most extended, most exclusive scenes not in theaters, Disney’s Muppets Most Wanted is the most hilarious, most wanted Muppet movie ever!
It really is super funny and perfect for the whole family! We got the DVD early and so I made a fun snack for the boys to enjoy during our family movie time – Kermit & Constantine quesadillas! Here’s what you’ll need to make this Muppet snack:
- Spinach wraps/tortillas
- Shredded cheese
- Provolone cheese
- black olives
- 1 large tomato
- 1 slice of ham
- food safe markers (*affiliate link)
- knife
- Kermit template
Print & cut out a Kermit template (I separated the head from the collar). Stack two tortillas on top of each other and place the head template on the tortillas. Using the knife, cut around the template to get a basic shape for your frog head. Once that’s done, fill with a little shredded cheese and melt (however you normally make them, we use the toaster oven). Just don’t over cook or Kermit will look burnt! The microwave might be the best way to go here. While that is cooling, you’ll get all your details ready.
For Kermit, cut a mouth-shaped section out of the tomato. I cut as much of the inside flesh off to help keep his mouth more flat on the tortilla. His pink tongue is just a piece cut out of a deli ham slice. Then, use the template to cut out eyes from provolone cheese slices. The black in his eyes are cut black olives. Set that all on the quesadilla head you already made, then use a food safe marker to draw his smile lines and the line in his tongue! Set his collar on (cut from the tortilla using the template) and you have Kermit!
As you can see, the evil Constantine has a much less friendly face – really more of a sneer than a smile! So, I decided not to give him an open mouth. The process for Constantine’s eyes were the same, though you can try to do the eye slits so he doesn’t look as happy. But, the big difference was the mouth…and then his signature mole. I just used a food safe marker to draw his sneer and cut out a black olive mole! Easy!
The boys LOVED their fun snack and especially loved the movie. It actually is the first Muppets movie they’ve seen and I think they’re hooked. And, the adults loved all the celebrity cameos – so funny!
Muppets Most Wanted is available on Blu-ray Combo Pack and Digital HD August 12th at Disney.com! In the meantime, you can see what the Muppets are up to on their Facebook / Twitter / Pinterest pages. And, be sure to check out all the fun Muppets ideas below – perfect for planning a fun, family movie night when you get the DVD!

Oh my gosh!! These are insane. My kids would die if I made these for them. They might not eat them but I would be the coolest mom ever. Thank you for sharing!
