A few weeks ago, I shared details with you about the (FREE) LeapFrog Summer Camp. Basically, it’s an 8-week long program (running from June 4th to July 28th) perfect for ages 4–7 to do some educational activities over the summer. We’ve been doing some of the activities and are LOVING it!!
Here’s the breakdown for each week:Due to all of our travels & busyness the past couple weeks, we haven’t done each day. But, that’s the beauty of the way LeapFrog has set it up. There’s a theme each week with activities set up around it, but you can choose what to do, when to do it, and how to participate. If you’re too busy one day, then skip it. Or, print off the activity and do it later. Have a child that is eager to sit & do some activities for longer periods of time? Then, print off multiple activities and do them all at once! There is even an “extra credit” section each week with some additional printables and activity ideas! And, even though most things are geared toward ages 4-7, there are even some coloring pages that I’ve been able to print off for Little Brother (age 2), so he can be engaged while Big Brother and work on some of his activities.
From the “Caring for Animals” week, we all loved ABC Animal Orchestra coloring pages. And, the former biology teacher in me was thrilled with some of the various animal activities. We still haven’t done it yet, but I think the basic animal taxonomy activity idea from the extra credit is a fabulous one!! This week (“Puzzle Time”), I’ve been especially excited about some of the math-building activities. Heading into Kindergarten, I feel like Big Brother has a great grasp of his letters & even writing. But, we haven’t done as much with math & numbers. So, it was great to work with him on some number activities! Big Brother has been really into mazes lately, so he especially liked those activities.
If you haven’t already, there is still plenty of time to sign up! You can do so by visiting LeapFrog Summer Camp. For those who are interested, LeapFrog will also be offering specials on their products and a weekly photo contest with prizes during the duration of the camp! I really think it’s a great (FREE) resource and perfect way to keep your kiddo(s) engaged in a little summer fun learning!
Have you tried out LeapFrog Summer Camp? What do YOU think?
