Celebrate Halloween with these fun Disney-inspired Cars Land “Spoke-y Cone” Homemade Krispie Treats!
Before attending the Thor: Ragnarok Red Carpet Premiere as part of my recent #ThorRagnarokEvent press trip (invited and hosted by Disney), we spent a spooktacular evening at Disneyland celebrating the upcoming release of Cars 3 on Blu-ray/DVD (available on Digital 10/24 and Blu-ray 11/7). This is actually the first year that Disney’s Cars Land has been decked out for Halloween…or Haul-O-Ween as it were! 😉 The Cozy Cone Motel got a “Spoke-y” Cone makeover, which is becoming one of the most recognizable features of the new Haul-O-Ween decor!
Aren’t the cones SO fun?! All the decor is! They did such an amazing job! In addition to fun decor, the special themed treats are always fun at Disneyland during any holiday. The new treats for this Halloween season do NOT disappoint! These Spoke-y Cone Macarons are getting some serious attention on social media. In fact, my friend Karen over at Desert Chica actually did a fun homemade version of the candy CONE macarons here!

Aren’t they fun? Sadly though, it’s not always doable to head to Disneyland any time you want to celebrate Halloween – bummer, right?! That was actually the hardest thing for me…my boys SO wanted to do Halloween Time there this year and we just couldn’t swing it. So, I decided to bring a little of the Haul-O-Ween fun to life at home by making some homemade Cars Land inspired treats. Inspired by those spoke-y cones, I decided to make some spooky cone krispie treats! And the boys thought they were spooktacular! 😉 They really aren’t too hard to make at all. I used the same process I did for making the copycat Disneyland Mickey Pumpkin Krispie Treats! Here’s what you’ll need:
- 1/4 C butter
- 4 C mini marshmallows
- 6 C Rice cereal
- white, orange, or yellow candy bark/coating
- orange sanding sugar
- chocolate candy bark or black decorating gel
- popsicle sticks
You’ll start the process by making a batch of krispie treats. Spread them into a pan to. Once cool, use a triangle cookie cutter (or make your own template like I did) to get the cone shape.Melt the candy coating. insert popsicle sticks into the bottom of the cones (use a little melted chocolate to help stick if needed). Then, dip one side of the cone-shaped treats in the melted candy coating. Immediately after, dip the coated cones in orange sanding sugar (which I just spread out on a paper plate). Once the base of the cone is done, all that’s left to do is pipe on the spooky face. You’ll need to melted chocolate for this or decorating gel. Carefully pipe on the face (using the pictures of cones in the park as your guide)! And that’s it – you have cute Cars Land treats Halloween treats at home!
