As a PBS KIDS VIP, I’ve got some fun info to share about Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood! Tomorrow, Sept. 2nd, Daniel Tiger’s “Neighbor Day” premieres on PBS. In this half hour special, Daniel learns how good it feels to be neighborly and that one kind act can lead to many. His first good deed starts a chain reaction of kindness all around the Neighborhood, culminating with the declaration of “Neighbor Day”! “Do something nice for your neighbor” is a great message for kids!
But, the Daniel Tiger fun doesn’t stop there. This month, the Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood toy line will be available exclusively at Toys ‘R’ Us stores! That will be perfect this holiday season for your favorite little Daniel Tiger fans! In addition to the fun new toys, you can download the new Daniel Tiger’s Day & Night app! Currently available for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch, the app helps kids learn basic morning and bedtime routines from Daniel Tiger as he gets ready for school in the morning and ready for bed at night. Designed for children ages 2-4, the app’s songs and games encourage kids to tap into their imaginations as they make believe with Daniel. Kids can set the breakfast table, tie their shoes, and listen to a bedtime story – all with Daniel Tiger! So, this is perfect for Little Brother (age 3). Ever since Daniel Tiger first aired, he has really been drawn to the show (and I can’t help but love all the Mr. Roger’s references from my childhood). So, he has really liked playing with this app!
Additional features include:
- 8 games about morning and nighttime routines
- Good Morning and Good Night strategy songs
- A timer for parents to help with routines
The Daniel Tiger’s Day & Night App is available for $2.99 from the App Store on iPhone, iPad and iPod touch or at www.AppStore.com/PBSKIDS. The app will be available on Android later this fall.
Do YOUR kids like Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood?
Disclosure: As a PBS KIDS VIP blogger, I received a free download code for the app and promotional materials. However, all opinions and experiences are entirely my own. We loved PBS KIDS long before being a PBS KIDS blogger!
