Christmas Home TourI’ve teamed up with a group of bloggers this week to share all kinds of fun Christmas decor from our homes. I’ve never done an official tour of some of our Christmas home decor before, so this should be fun! 🙂 Welcome to our house…greeted by our wreath and giant peppermint lollipops! Giant Peppermint LollipopsWith 3 little ones in the house, our decor tends to be a little more “kindergarten chic” than something out of a magazine. But, I’m totally ok with that! Our tree, along with the majority of our decorations (that are within reach of little hands) are totally geared to kids! So, next to the tree, we have a coffee table with all of our fun Christmas books, plus some Christmas plush friends and Hallmark singing snowmen (they’re a favorite around here). We even have Olaf from Disney’s Frozen in the mix now too! Christmas kids tableThat coffee table sits right next to the tree. Our tree is an eclectic one, full of homemade ornaments  and many from over 30 years of our ornament tradition!

Christmas treeOur tree sits in the corner of our living room/dining room and our “faux mantel” is on the wall to the right of the tree! 2013 Christmas Home TourThe mantel is one of my favorite things this year! I’ve been loving some of the more rustic looking decor pieces lately and the mantel captures some of that this year! Rustic Christmas MantelThe Santa, reindeer, and lighted twigs are from Lowe’s (as part of my Holiday Ready Home party). The whole display was super quick to put together. I put garland on the mantel and added in some DIY snowy pinecones, along with red & gold ornaments. The holly berry wreath I made last year with the cardinal goes perfectly with the Santa I found!

Winter Berry WreathNext to the mantel are our giant popsicle stick snowflakes that the boys & I made this year! They are a great addition to the wall space there! (You can see our “Elf on the Shelf” wanted to be part of our mantel display too! 😉 )

Christmas Mantel & Giant SnowflakesDirectly across from the mantel wall is our stair banister! That’s where the stockings get hung (they’re not up yet though). And, this year, we have a giant “Merry Christmas” banner hanging from the upstairs railing! I love how much space it takes up!

Christmas BuntingYou can see that we have our fair share of lighted garland! 😉 I love the way it makes the house feel at night all lit up. Our china hutch sits in the far corner of our living room/dining room space. So, we spruce it up for Christmas just a bit.

Garland on China HutchWe have some miscellaneous decor here & there in other rooms too, but everything I shared are the main highlights. Our living room/dining room is by far our largest room in the house. It’s where we open presents Christmas morning (and host Christmas dinner), so it definitely gets the most attention. So, I hope you enjoyed a little peek into our Christmas home decor! For glimpses at all the other bloggers’ houses, make sure to stop by Denise Designed for the list of home tours.
