What’s the breakfast style around your house? Quick breakfast on-the-go? Hot breakfast? Just a drink? Not matter what your style, Silk Fruit&Protein might be a great addition to a healthy breakfast at your house!
We picked up a carton to try this week while our family was in town visiting! It was right in the refrigerated section, next to the other Silk products. Unfortunately, our Walmart only had one flavor, Strawberry Banana, but it actually comes in two more–Mixed Berry & Peach Mango.
The nutritional information is really appealing to me. There’s not only the vitamin goodness (like Vitamin C) found in a more traditional juice we might have in the morning, but there is the added benefit of protein! With growing little guys in the house, making sure they get enough calcium & protein is really important!! Here’s the label, so you can take a look for yourself:
I decided to make “BIG Breakfast” (as we call it around here) one morning while our family was here. So I put the Silk Fruit&Protein drink out for people to sample while I cooked! Mr. Mom Endeavors had the first pour!
We thought it was good. I guess I was expecting it to taste more like a flavored milk, but it didn’t. It was more like a sort of creamy juice–sort of like a smoothie. So, the adults liked it, but what about the kids?! We all know they are the really important taste testers!
I’m pleased to report that they definitely liked it! Big Brother even gave it an enthusiastic thumbs up–bed head and all! 🙂
The taste seemed so perfect for a smoothie, that I couldn’t resist trying it right away. I just threw a few things in the blender–about 2 cups of the Silk Fruit&Protein, 2 cups of ice, 2 handfuls of berries, and 1 banana.
It was absolutely delicious! A great way to start the day–especially when it accompanied a big ‘ole, yummy breakfast!
Have you tried Silk Fruit&Protein yet? What is your favorite flavor (or which one do you think you’d like the best)?

Oh, you’re making me hungry for breakfast food. We made ours into a smoothie as well and it was delicious.
I love the chocolate SILK, Not a fan of the Vanilla. I bet this would be GOOD. Especially with added fruit.
If he gives a thumbs up, it must be good!
