Hi Mom Endeavors readers! I’m Vanessa from See Vanessa Craft, where you can see me craft and do other stuff too! A big thanks to Sara for inviting me to be part of her Cornucopia of Creativity series. I’d love for you to stop by my blog and say hello! You can also find me on facebook, twitter and pinterest.
My grandma recently sent me some of her award winning tortillas. There’s just something about grandma’s cooking that can’t be beat. I decided to turn a few of her tortillas into baked tortilla chips, covered in cinnamon and sugar of course! Because this is a Thanksgiving themed series, I brought out the cookie cutters and shaped my tortilla chips into leaves. Make up a big batch as an appetizer for Thanksgiving. You could serve these chips with a side of chopped up fruit for a healthy dessert alternative. Your guests will be totally impressed by your culinary skills and little do they know, it only took you 20 minutes to do!
Ingredients (makes approximately 15 chips)
5 Tortillas (homemade or store bought)
2-3 Tablespoons Melted Butter
Cinnamon Sugar
Leaf Cookie Cutters
Basting Brush (or a brand new foam brush works)
Cookie Sheet
Parchment Paper
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Use cookie cutters to cut tortillas into leaf shapes. I was able to get 3 leaf shapes per tortilla.
Step 2: Melt butter and brush tortilla leaves with it (front and back).
Step 3: Sprinkle the top of the tortilla leaves with cinnamon sugar.
Step 4: Bake for 10 minutes or until crispy. Enjoy!
