It’s no secret we are huge Star Wars™ fans and canNOT wait for Star Wars: The Force Awakens to hit theaters next week! So, I was thrilled to come up with a fun idea to help awaken the Force in the morning with this fun Star Wars™ themed breakfast bar as part of a campaign compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #AwakenYourTastebuds #CollectiveBias After returning from the Star Wars: The Force Awakens global press event a few days ago (where we interviewed most of the cast, including Harrison Ford!!) and with our Star Wars™ countdown calendar is now in single digits, the excited movie anticipation in our house is palpable. To add to that excitement, why not make a little Star Wars™ themed breakfast bar to awaken your tastebuds?! You could surprise the kids with this to tell them about going to the movie, as something fun for the morning after the movie, or as part of a birthday surprise! I LOVE doing fun things like this for my boys as a special treat! Star Wars™ merchandise is everywhere – including all kinds of themed food items! And General Mills has joined in the galactic fun with cereals like Star Wars™ Cinnamon Toast Crunch® and Star Wars™ Honey Nut Cheerios® that come with exclusive droid viewers inside. These little viewers really are pretty cool little toy gadgets. We got R2D2 and one of the new droids from the new movie! The back of the boxes are super fun – with BB-8 and the secret messages. So kids can have fun trying to decode the messages while eating their fun Star Wars™ breakfast! With serving up the fun themed cereals, then you really need some blue milk as part of your Star Wars™ breakfast bar! And yes, blue milk is a Star Wars™ thing. If we’re getting technical, it’s Bantha milk. But since I couldn’t find any Banthas around, I just went with some normal cow’s milk and a few drops of blue food coloring! Add in some Star Wars™ straws and you’ve got a big hit! Fruit is a good addition to any breakfast, so I decided our Star Wars™ buffet needed a bowl of fruit stars! These were SO easy to do and the colors look great on the table too! I just used a small star cookie cutter to cut stars out of slices of fresh pineapple and cantaloupe. Kiwi, watermelon, or honeydew melon all could work well for cutting fruit stars. Then just put your cut shapes in a bowl and serve! And, last but certainly not least, we included some yogurt as part of our breakfast bar – in the form of fun Star Wars™ Go-Gurt®! The fun character packaging is a HUGE hit with the kids and we LOVE that the new characters from Star Wars: The Force Awakens are represented – like Rey, Finn, Poe, Kylo Ren, Captain Phasma, and BB-8. Plus, there are old favorites like C3PO and Chewbacca! So fun! To really make your breakfast bar fun and perfect to coincide with the new movie, you can pick up some themed Star Wars: The Force Awakens party plates and napkins! Needless to say, these were a BIG hit! So, let the kids pick what they’d like and fill their plates. Putting together a little themed buffet like this is SUCH a fun way to celebrate the new movie coming out! Besides, Cinnamon Toast Crunch with blue milk is just more fun! 😉 If you really want to increase the excitement level or surprise fun factor, you can include some printable coloring pages for the new movie. So, the Force can really be strong with breakfast! This little breakfast buffet was VERY easy to put together as I found just about everything I needed at Walmart! They’ve got the fun cereals (though notice there are some empty spaces there – this cereal is POPULAR!!!), the Go-Gurt, and the fun Star Wars: The Force Awakens party supplies! So, you can grab all your supplies in a one-stop-shop situation! Are YOU excited for the new movie? Do YOU have a little Star Wars™ fan that would love a themed breakfast?
