At some point in time, a tasty, minty green milkshake became a classic St. Patrick’s Day treat. I’ve actually been in Ireland on St. Patrick’s Day and didn’t see anyone drinking a green milkshake! 😉 But, it does make for something fun to help celebrate! Add in a few rainbow candies from the leprechauns to make it a fun over-the-rainbow shamrock shake! The kids are SURE to love it!
- 1 Cup Milk
- 2 Cups Vanilla Ice Cream
- Green Food Coloring
- Mint Extract
- Whipped Cream
- Air Heads Rainbow Candy (optional)
- Place milk, ice cream, 5-7 drops food coloring, and about ½ teaspoon mint extract into a blender.
- Mix until you have your desired consistency.
- Pour contents into glasses and top with whipped cream and a rainbow candy or two!
So easy recipe to make at home! And a fun St. Patrick’s Day dessert to be sure! You can have slow cooker Guinness Corned Beef & Cabbage for dinner and then have these milkshakes for dessert. Or you could serve up this fun Irish Flag inspired trifle! Or, for the adults, how about these Guinness Green Velvet Cupcakes with Irish Cream Frosting?!?! YUM!!!!!!!
