This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of K12, the leader in online education. All opinions are 100% mine.
Do you have a preschooler or preK little one at home that you’re trying to do some sort of preschool with? That’s where we’re at with Little Brother. He’ll be four in a couple of months and we have yet to send him to any sort of preschool program. I’m totally okay with that…I love having him at home and I think we do an okay job of exposing him to a variety of things. But, I do think that he definitely could benefit to something much more formal than anything I’ve been doing. Enter EmbarK12 Comprehensive- Online and hands-on preschool program for your early learner, a program designed to prepare early learners ages 3-5 for Kindergarten.
The EmbarK¹² online site is very user friendly and easy-to-navigate. And obviously, it’s very kid friendly. Little Brother was immediately drawn to it. Truthfully, I think he thought it was some fun new “i-learning” app. He was very excited to get started!
As a mom and thus the “preschool teacher” in this case, I love how detailed everything is. You can see that there are 18 different themes/units and each theme has different modules and sub-categories including Language Arts, Math, Science, Social Studies, Art and Music. In total, there are over 1,200 age-appropriate activities with over 288 hours of activities in all!!!
In addition to the online activities and resources, one of the HUGE benefits of the EmbarK¹² Comprehensive program are all the materials you get. The box that arrived was stuffed FULL of great learning materials! I was so excited by all of the books – almost all of them were titles we didn’t already have.
With both online and hands-on materials, I love that you can really tailor the program to suit your child. You could go through the program from beginning to end or pick & choose what to do and when. Because of our current interest in watching the Olympics, we recently decided to work on the “Our World” theme. It was great for both Little Brother and Big Brother (who is in 1st grade) to go over some things on maps & globes. We also used the globe ball to talk about different countries.
Big Brother really enjoyed it too. He even did some of the “time” unit on his own. Most of it was too easy for him, but it was great reinforcement! Another benefit to using the program that I hadn’t initially thought of is that it also helps little ones build their computer skills (and fine motor skills). It takes Little Brother extra work & coordination to use the touch pad mouse. So, I do like that it’s helping develop some technology skills as well. So, if you’re wanting to try something a little more formal at home with your preschooler, I definitely recommend the kindergarten readiness programs by K12. Try a sample activity today.

I LOVE this! My 3 and 4 year old really need extra reinforcement at home, and I don’t always know what’s age appropriate for them. They would thrive with a program like this that’s tailored for them! Awesome giveaway!
Anything that makes learning fun is good in my book.
My boys love online learning! I think this would be a great way to get more education in at home.
My three-year-old would LOVE this! He’s used ABCmouse.com for awhile now, and he’s ready for something new and different to keep him busy and entertained while I’m doing homeschool for the older two boys!
My son could really do well with this, bc he thrives with new exciting things!!
Thanks for sharing. I just now noticed this is run by K12. I’ve been waiting for them to come out with a preschool program! My son would do great with this as he is motivated by the computer and likes to work for the most part independently.
