I was recently given a challenge to create a craft with the new M&M’s Candy Corn White Chocolate Candies and you know I couldn’t resist! Have you seen them yet? They’re exclusive to Walmart and I found them last week on an end cap in the Halloween section. {You can view my whole shopping trip here}My mind has been spinning with all kinds of fun recipes and crafty ideas! In fact, almost as soon as we bought them, I made M&M’s Candy Corn White Chocolate Macadamia Nut Cookies!! And, they are seriously SOOOooooo good! So, with all the fun treat possibilities you could make with these M&M’s, I decided a themed “cake plate” was definitely in order. It was perfect for the cookies!

But, I also added some fun candy corn treat bags just for fun!

To make your own M&M’s Candy Corn cake plate, here’s what you’ll need:

  • 1 white dinner plate
  • 1 clear drinking glass
  • 1-2 bags of M&M’s Candy Corn White Chocolate Candies
  • embellishments (you could use paint, ribbons, pom-poms, etc. I found this cool already made embellishment at a local craft store)
  • hot glue

For making these fun projects, I started by sorting the M&M’s in three different bowls by color. It wasn’t quite two full bags because we had already done some sampling! 🙂 Then, you can put together your cake plate in just a few easy steps!  1. Fill the glass with the M&M’s to make it look like candy corn!  Put white in first, then orange, then yellow.

2. Line the rim of the now full glass with hot glue. Place the plate on top, making sure to center the plate on the glass.

3. Gather your embellishments. I found this one at one of our local craft stores and thought it was perfect. But, there are so many other things you could do too–paint, ribbons, pom-poms, even more candy corn M&M’s!

4. Apply your embellishments to the rim of the plate. I used a bit of hot glue and Elmer’s X-TREME glue stick on mine.

Then, voila, an M&M’s Candy Corn Cake Plate, perfect for displaying  yummy treats or fun crafts throughout the season!! But, I couldn’t just leave it at that! We needed something to put on it!!! For a crafty item, I decided on making some M&M’s candy corn treat bags! 🙂To make M&M’s Candy Corn treat bags, here’s what you’ll need:

  • tulle or netting squares (I got a 1/2 yard of orange and cut it into squares)
  • M&M’s Candy Corn White Chocolate Candies (1-2 bags or more depending on how many you want to make)
  • 1 piece of paper to make a cone.
  • yellow, orange, and white ribbon

1. Make a cone shape out of a piece of paper (this is to make the layers of M&M’s).

2. Put a cut square of tulle into the paper cone (stuff it all the way down to the tip). I decided to put it in a small glass, just so I wouldn’t have to hold it. Then, fill with the candies–starting with white, then orange, then yellow.

3. Once the cone is full, pull the tulle as tight as you can (this helps keep the layers in place) and tie with ribbon.

4. Then, you have adorable little candy corn treat bags! They’d be perfect to give out as little favors for a Halloween party! 🙂

So, what do you think?! Remember how I said that this was a challenge? It was and there is a little competition involved with prizes at stake!! From October 7th-21st, I  would LOVE for you to head over to www.mmsgetcorny.com and vote for the M&M’s Candy Corn Cake Plate & Treat Bags!!!
