I’m happy to share some tips with you today for preparing your front entry for fall and Thanksgiving as part of a sponsored campaign with Therma-Tru Benchmark, available exclusively at Lowe’s. Fall Front EntryFall signals a sort of unofficial start to the holiday season for me. Between Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas, there’s all kind of various fun decorations and festivities to be had! It’s also a time where we seem to be welcoming more family and friends to our home! So, having an inviting front entry seems especially nice this time of year.

Fall Front Entry Tips

1. Update curb appeal with nice front door. Less than a year ago, we had our beautiful gray Therma-Tru Benchmark door (available exclusively at Lowe’s) installed and the change has been dramatic. Not only does the fiberglass door look SO much nicer, but it’s higher quality, high performance, and energy efficient! Really, it’s better in every way. And I LOVE the look! (If you’d like to see how not nice our front door was before, be sure to check out the transformation here –> front door makeover). So, a nice door definitely helps set the entry way tone. Fall Front Door Wreath2.  Put up a nice fall wreath. I LOVE this DIY burlap fall wreath (click for directions) that I made for the door. The colors compliment each other so nicely and it’s something that can work on the door through the Thanksgiving season.

3. Have a welcome sign. I love the popularity of the tall, wooden signs right now. You can certainly make your own, but many stores sell various versions as well. In fact, I picked some of this decor up at Lowe’s. You can shop for a new door with  Therma-Tru Benchmark  and pick up the decor for your front entry while you’re there!  Tall Welcome Sign4. Fall themed welcome mat. Your entry mat helps set your welcoming tone as well. You can go with a DIY or store-bought option, something simple or more decorative, depending on your style. For Thanksgiving, we liked this “give thanks” mat. It also goes with the general pumpkin theme we wanted to have going as well. Thanksgiving Welcome Mat5. Add in a few fall decor items. Pumpkins, fall flowers, wheat, cornstalks, etc. can all work well for this. I opted for some faux pumpkins so they can sit outside for months without rotting. Plus, I love that pumpkins can carry through before and after Halloween. You can add another thinner rug or some simple linens for some added texture/colors as well! Fall Faux PumpkinsHopefully these tips helped spark some fall entry inspiration for you! These ideas would all work for welcoming your family and friends for Thanksgiving too! So, head out to pick up some supplies to beautify your fall entry and if you’re considering a new front door, be sure to check out Therma-Tru Benchmark. For tips on the whole door-buying process, check out our post here –> Top things to consider when buying a new door.
