I’m so excited to share some of the fun from our recent time at the 2014 Disney Social Media Moms Celebration!! This was the conference’s first-ever time at the Disneyland Resort and the first trip back to Disneyland for our boys since the Cars Land grand opening trip. Last year, we were honored to attend the 2013 Disney Social Media Moms Celebration at Walt Disney World, so we were thrilled to be invited to the Disneyland celebration this year. And, in true Disney fashion, it was pure magic! Disney Social Media Moms 2014 RecapAs part of the conference, we stayed at the iconic Disneyland hotel and we loved this! Staying on property at the Disney Parks is such an awesome way to go! I wrote a post last year all about the benefits to staying on property at Disney World and many of those same benefits apply at the Disneyland Resort. You can also read our previous review of the Disneyland Hotel. My hands-down favorite thing there is the headboard. Yes, really, the headboard. It’s Disney magic at its finest!

Love it! We got to spend our nights with that as a backdrop. And, we spent our days jam-packed with family fun, friends, food, amazing speakers, special events, and magical memory-making. It was a chance for me to network with fellow bloggers and social media gurus. We heard from inspiring speakers, like Donald Driver (former NFL player @Donald_Driver80), Maxine Clark (Build-A-Bear Workshop founder @ChiefExecBear), and Doug Bowman (Creative Director for Twitter @stop). We also heard from amazing people within the Walt Disney Company about their social media strategy, creative process, and some insanely amazing upcoming attractions & projects (I’ll be sharing more in upcoming posts).

Really, I could listen to these amazing folks talk about their jobs all day long! Now working in social media, Tom Smith & Gary Buchanan (Disney Parks Social Media Director & Managing Editor) are pure joy to listen to. And, hearing Disney imagineers talk about their creative process is absolutely incredible and inspiring! There were also some fun celebrity appearances including Elle Fanning (Princess Aurora in Disney’s upcoming Maleficent), LeVar Burton, David Arquette, Tim Gunn, Ariel Winter, Genevieve Goings, and Grumpy Cat! 😉 Disney Social Media Moms SpeakersIt was absolutely incredible to be among all of these awesome people! Plus, I finally met some online friends for the first time in person and was thrilled to have so many friends & fellow Arizona bloggers in attendance. Sharing these experiences with familiar faces & friends makes it even more fun!

But, I think the most special part of the Disney Social Media Moms Celebration for me is the inclusion of family! As a mom in this social media space, I am SO appreciative of companies that value the importance of family. And, Disney has valued that from the very beginning! Walt’s entire vision for Disneyland is summed up in this quote about the park, “We believed in our idea — a family park where parents and children could have fun — together.” And, have fun we did! MomEndeavors #DisneySMMomsWe were there during the 50th Anniversary Celebration of “It’s a Small World”. We rode (many times) the newly remodeled & totally awesome Big Thunder Railroad. Big Brother got his birthday wish to fight Darth Vader in the Jedi Training academy. Little Brother rode Star Tours for the very first time. We played in ToonTown during an amazing private dinner thanks to GoGoSqueeZ (our favorite fruit pouches). We rode Radiator Springs Racers & Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree (two of our favorite rides ever) over & over during a private breakfast in Cars Land before the park opened (thanks to Alamo). We took tons of pictures, had so much fun, and made family memories that I will treasure forever.

Disney is simply THE best at details and creativity…and it shined through every moment of the conference. I could go on and on. But, I’ll let our fun highlights video do the rest of the “talking”. So many special moments!

Stay tuned right here on Mom Endeavors for more Disney information & fun to come! In the meantime, if you’re interested in more information about the Disney Social Media Moms Celebration and their upcoming “On-The-Road” events, be sure to check out the #DisneySMMoms website!

  1. I’m impressed by how many family photos you were able to get. I sometimes find it challenging to get pictures with ALL of us behind the lens. 😉

Hope to see you again soon!
