We LOVE Disney’s Big Hero 6. So, with the movie release on DVD this week, I decided to make some fun Baymax cookie pops. These are perfect a Big Hero 6 party or fun at-home movie night! I made them during naptime and Baby Brother squealed, “Bay-ma”, as soon as he saw them! So fun!
We’ve made character cookie pops before like these Mike & Sulley pops from Monsters University! And, just like with those pops, all you’ll need is a few supplies and a bit of time!
Supplies:
- Oreos (Double Stuff are preferable)
- White Candy Melts/Vanilla Bark Coating
- Lollipop sticks (or flat popsicle sticks)
- Reese’s Pieces Baking Chips (or similar small round candy)
- chocolate chips
- piping bag or baggie
Baymax Cookie Pops Directions:
Start by placing the sticks into the cream layer of the Oreos. It can help everything stick better if you dip the end of the stick in the melted candy coating first. Then, as it hardens, it helps hold the stick in place. If you don’t have double stuff Oreos, then flat popsicle sticks definitely work better. Once your sticks are set, you’re ready to dip the cookies in the melted “white chocolate” (melt according to package directions. I always just put them in a bowl & use the microwave–way easier that way!) Coat each “oreo on a stick” with melted “chocolate”, gently tapping off any excess. Let set for a few seconds and place two dark brown Reese’s Pieces baking chips on the front for Baymax’s eyes (make sure they’re widely spaced). Continue that process for all the cookies you’d like to do.
Once all the cookies are dipped, the eyes are placed, and the white candy coating has hardened, then you can pipe on the line connecting the eyes. For this, I used a few melted semi-sweet chocolate chips. I placed the melted chocolate in a baggie with a small piping tip to connect the eyes. Once dry, serve however you like! They were a big hit around here! And, we’re planning a fun Big Hero 6 playdate with some friends, so I think these will definitely make another appearance!
