About Sherlock Gnomes

They’re on a mission to bring every gnome home! After a string of garden gnome disappearances in London, Gnomeo & Juliet look to legendary detective Sherlock Gnomes to solve the case of their missing friends and family.

The all-star voice cast includes amazing talents like Emily Blunt, Johnny Depp, Mary J. Blige, Michael Cain, Ozzy Osborne, and more! Here’s a look a the Sherlock Gnomes Official Trailer:

I love the cute look of the all gnomes, but the ones the faceless gnomes (known as Goons) stood out to me! They were the perfect models for an easy, tasty treat! Sherlock Gnomes Goons

Aren’t they cute?! They make cute krispie treats too! Gnome GoonsAnd they really were easy to make! You don’t need many ingredients either – which is great! I even left their faces just the plain rice cereal krispie treat look (instead of dipping over them), but I think it works for this project!

Gnome Krispie Treats Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 C butter
  • 4 C  mini marshmallows
  • 6 C puffed rice cereal
  • red candy melts/bark
  • white candy melts/bark
  •  additional mini marshmallows for gnome beards
  • chocolate candy bark or black decorating gel
  • lollipop sticks

You’ll start the process by making a batch of krispie treats. Spread them into a pan to cool. Make your own template like I did (or you could probably use a larger ice cream cone shaped cookie cutter for this) to cut out gnome shapes. Place the template on the cooled treats and use a knife to cut around your template. Then use bits of the excess treats to shape into gnome noses!  Making Gnome Rice Krispies TreatsOne your gnome shapes are cut out, melt the red candy coating. Use a spoon to help you cover the entirety of the gnome hat, as well as get a distinct line for where the hat “sits” on the head. Place in refrigerator to harder.
Melt white candy coating. Insert lollipop sticks into the bottom of the treats (use a little white melted chocolate to help stick if needed).  Then, dip the top bottom side of the noses in melted white coating and stick on the noses to the face (right at the edge of the hat). Immediately after, place start dipping one side of each mini marshmallows and stick them to them around the edge of the face to create the beard. Making Gnome Krispie TreatsThe last thing you’ll do is pipe on a little smile or smirk (with your melted dark chocolate or gel frosting writer pen)! That’s it and you have adorable gnome krispie treats!!! Gnome Party TreatsAren’t they so cute?! I just loved them…and so did the boys!!! They were THRILLED with a fun, themed treat and can’t wait to see the movie! I hear there are some good themes in the movie like teamwork, not taking others for granted, and putting family first. So, it should be a fun one to take the whole family to! Sherlock Gnomes Movie TreatSo make plans to see Sherlock Gnomes with your family in theaters on March 23rd and enjoy making some tasty gnome krispie treats to go with! Get tickets for the movie here!
