Since I’m headed to Hollywood for a special #DisneyPlanesPremiere & #LittleMermaid event, I’ve got all things Disney and The Little Mermaid on the brain! So, I thought this was the perfect time to finally share my interview with Princess Ariel herself! During the Mickey and the Magical Map Event, I had the pleasure of experiencing Disneyland Resort’s new Fantasy Faire for the first time. Fantasy Faire opened in March (of 2013). As part of that experience, I had the opportunity to do an interview live from Fantasy Faire as well! How cool to interview Ariel and the head mouse himself all in one day!
Fantasy Faire is a great new addition to the Disneyland Resort, keeping in line with Disney’s commitment to storytelling and immersing guests in timeless Disney tales. In this new storybook village near Sleeping Beauty Castle, guests can meet several Disney Princesses as they stroll through the beautiful Royal Hall.

Becca and I did indeed enjoy a stroll through the Royal Hall, meeting some lovely princesses…and even working on our best princess hands! 😉 But, the Royal Hall is not all the Fantasy Faire has to offer. My favorite is actually the Royal Theatre! There, guests can enjoy two Princess-themed shows that tell the tales of Rapunzel (“Tangled”) and Belle (“Beauty and the Beast”) as presented by Mr. Smythe and Mr. Jones, a pair of vaudeville-style Renaissance storytellers full of good humor. The princess heroine (Rapunzel or Belle) then joins in the fun and remains with the audience to greet guests following the story.

I highly recommend the shows! Even if you have kids that aren’t into the princesses, or if you’re not even there with kids, catching a show at the Royal Theatre is definitely something to consider putting on your must-see list. I had the pleasure of seeing Beauty and the Beast and was so pleasantly surprised! It truly was very well done and absolutely hilarious!!
The whole look of the area blends seamlessly into the area around Sleeping Beauty Castle and is a really nice addition to the Disneyland Resort!! Be sure to include it in your next Disneyland Trip! While you’re there, be sure to check out some of the fun details like Geppetto’s cat Figaro dozing (and occasionally waking) on a window sill, and “Clopin’s Music Box,” a really neat, interactive mechanical toy representing the Feast of Fools from “The Hunchback of Notre Dame.”
What would you be most excited to see in Fantasy Faire?

Disclosure: I was invited to attend a special media event for the premiere of Mickey and the Magical Map and the Monstrous Summer kickoff at the Disneyland Resort. However, as always, all opinions, experiences, and love of Disney are entirely my own.
