Hello, it’s Kari back with a delicious recipe: my grandmother’s “Pecan Tassies,” also known as mini pecan pies. These little pies are perfect for this time of year and this recipe is one of my most requested. Mini Pecan PiesJust imagine a plate full of Pecan Tassies at your Thanksgiving buffet. And the best news: they are pretty easy to make! I’ll walk you through it now. Pecan TassiesFirst, get the crust ready. Roll out your favorite crust recipe…(or, if you need a shortcut, use the pre-made crusts in the refrigerator section. Sometimes, when I’m in a hurry I use this option. It’s ok, I won’t tell!) Roll the crust out a bit thinner than you would a regular pie. These are such tiny little pies, and they only need just a thin layer of pie crust.

Now, grease the mini muffin tins and place the circles of crust in each one. Press them in…here I am using the wood plunger that came with my mini muffin tins.

Next, chop up about a cup of pecans. A food chopper makes quick work of it.

3 eggs, beat well
2/3 c. sugar
1/3 c. butter, melted
1 c. dark corn syrup
1/3 t. salt

Mix well. Then add in the chopped pecans and stir.
Drop by a tablespoon into each mini pie crust. Bake at 375 degrees for 12-15 minutes.

  1. Do you think you could freeze these? My mum and I are the only ones that like pecan pie so we are trying to come up with a way not to eat them all at once!

    1. Hi Emma! I would assume you could. The only catch is that I’m not sure if you should bake them first and then freeze…or freeze, then bake when you’d like a batch. If you try it, please come back and let us know! 🙂

      1. Hi, I love this recipe – it is my boyfriends favorite treat! Because hes in the military I have to ship them to him. I bake them fully and then freeze them before I ship them out – they thaw perfectly! 🙂

      2. I freeze tastiest all the time. I usually make about three batches in early November to have some for Thanksgiving and then for Christmas giveaways. I also like to take them to church funerals. I have had my recipe for over 50 years now. The only reason I found mine to stick, is that there is a tiny little fingernail hole on the
bottom which will let a spot of syrup out!
