Halloween Costume & Party Planning Prep {Party City Gift Card Giveaway!!!}

Oh my good­ness, the Hal­loween excite­ment recently grew expo­nen­tially at my house when we got a box of Hal­loween good­ness from Party City! We’ve decided on a Star Wars fam­ily theme this year and the boys are ridicu­lously excited! Like, so excited that they ask to wear their cos­tumes every day. In fact, Big Brother just asked to wear his for pic­ture day at school! Hilar­i­ous! Just look at them! If you’ve been around the blog long, you know I’m a big fan of DIY Hal­loween cos­tumes (like the par­rot cos­tume). How­ever, with Baby Brother and every­thing else going on, the thought of hand mak­ing five dif­fer­ent Star Wars cos­tumes was just too much–I would have needed to start mak­ing them about the time Baby Brother was born! But, Party City came through though with a great selec­tion of Star Wars cos­tumes (they even have Jawa and Jabba the Hut options!). We ended up with a cou­ple of Jedi, Yoda, Han Solo, and Leia! True to store-bought “one size fit” cos­tumes, there are a few siz­ing issues (like my belt is too small, Big Brother’s is too big, & at 6’4″, Mr. Mom Endeav­ors’ is a bit taller than the aver­age Han Solo). So, I’ll be doing a few DIY tweaks & acces­sory cre­at­ing to make them even more fun. But, over­all, they’re great for what we wanted. If I get really crafty, I might make the boys some Jedi robes to go with. But even if not, I think they look great in their cos­tumes! They’ve already mas­tered the art of Jedi pos­ing!And, let’s not for­get Baby Brother. Although I’m a lit­tle sad that we won’t be don­ning the lob­ster cos­tume that his big broth­ers did, he makes a stinkin’ adorable Yoda! He’s already get­ting into char­ac­ter! To see all of us all decked out together, you’ll have to come back for the Hal­loween recap post. Then, we’ll see how well Mr. Mom Endeav­ors and I man­aged to pull off Han & Leia! In the mean­time, we’re con­tin­u­ing with lots of Hal­loween fun this month. In addi­tion to our great cos­tume finds at Party City, I also got some Hal­loween party sup­plies for another a fun Halloween-themed play­date party!
