Over the summer, we did our beachy master bathroom makeover! While painting the room was fun, my favorite part of it was the various crafty/DIY projects I did with some of the shells & starfish. This framed starfish project was perfect for using some of our leftover paint to create matching custom color pops on the opposing bathroom walls!
To start, I picked up 3 really inexpensive frames (like less than $5 each).
Then, I took out the glass and removed the backs of the frames. I used the leftover wall paint to paint the frames. 
While those dried, I painted the insides of the frame backs dark brown (with more leftover paint we had from another painting project). Once the paint was dry, I distressed the frames–perfect for that weathered beach look!
Once the frames were distressed, the only thing left to do was attach the starfish. After figuring out which way the starfish looked best, I hot-glued them onto the frames, and voila…3D Framed Starfish Art. Perfect for our beachy bathroom!! A SUPER easy project, perfect for using up some leftover paint (if you don’t have paint leftovers, you could always pick up the little Glidden paint testers).I love the way it ties the whole bathroom together, by having a splash of color on the walls that we left white. We even have his & hers starfish now!

Love this! I think I’m going to try something similar with some sand dollars my husband found on a recent beach trip! Thanks for the idea!
(p.s.- {warning– dumbest question EVER!} What font is that that you have overlaying the first photo? I see it all over the bloggy-world and can’t for the life of me find out what it’s called and where you get it! I’m kind of a font-fanatic and would love to know! Thanks

The font is actually from picnik (not a dumb question!). If you’re not familiar, it’s a photo-editing website and there is a free version (what I use). I think the font is called pupcat. Let me know if you have more questions, and I can shoot you an email! 
Ahhhh! Thank you! Yes, I’ve heard of picnik, so I’ll have to look for it. I usually use picasa, but maybe a cute font can lure me away
I use picasa quite often too, but even the free version of picnik has a LOT of cute fonts and some fun effects that I don’t see in picasa! Have fun!
ooh LOVE these! I have a framed starfish, but I LOVE the color and chippiness of your frames! I made need to give mine a make-over!
