In addition to the #DisneyPlanesPremiere Event that Disney invited me to come out to Hollywood for, we were also celebrating the upcoming release of The Little Mermaid Diamond Edition Blu-Ray (on October 1st). So, my first night there, I had the pleasure of going Under the Sea for an extra special Little Mermaid dinner in Hollywood! We all gasped a little as we walked in to the room and were immersed in all things The Little Mermaid! In true Disney fashion, the ambiance and details were amazing! I LOVED the jellyfish, making it feel like we were indeed under the sea!The DIY/crafty person in me absolutely loved that they were silk-screening Little Mermaid inspired shirts right there for us too! Each shirt had a different word, inspired by some of Ariel’s character traits (like determined, adventurous, and spirited). I loved the blue one and since I don’t have any little girls at home, I made one for myself! 🙂 A huge highlight of the night was when John Musker and Ron Clements, writers and directors of The Little Mermaid, took the stage! I could have listened to them talk all night! So amazing! Be sure to stay tuned for future posts coming with our Q&A sessions with them. SO cool!! But, the real stars of this evening were all of the fun new Little Mermaid products from Disney Consumer Products! Just look at this whole fun display!!These products are starting to roll out at the Disney Store, Target, and Hot Topic! I predict some of these being especially hot Christmas presents this year! Here are some of my favorite picks: I LOVE The Little Mermaid Plus collection!! The childhood stuffed animal collector in me wanted to take them all home. I especially love Max (Prince Eric’s dog). So cute! For the villain fans, they even have Ursula, Flotsam and Jetsam! These are exclusively available at your local Disney Store (or DisneyStore.com), ranging in price from $9.50 -$19.95. I think that all of the dolls will be especially popular with little girls this fall and holiday season. These are two of my favorites that we saw that night. On the left is the Under the Sea Surprise Ariel (MSRP $29.99), who sings and says phrases from favorite movie moments. But, the extra fun highlight is that when placed in water, Ariel’s fin lights up! Then, the Deluxe Doll Gift Set on the right looks amazing!! You’ll find this one at the Disney Store, valued at $79.99. And, for the older girls (like me! 😉 ), there is the awesome Disney Ariel Collection by Sephora! So fun! Some of the gals at dinner actually won the nail polish sets, which look really neat. And, I came home with the perfume rollerball. I am really particular about perfume and was pleasantly surprised by this one. So, for a little more sophisticated way to channel your inner Ariel, be sure to check out this collection at Sephora! So, you’ll definitely be seeing these fun products in stores over the next few months. For more from The Little Mermaid, follow on Twitter and on Facebook! And, get ready for the October 1st release! 🙂
Which of those new Little Mermaid products would YOU most like to have?
