In reply to Tammy. Hi Tammy. Hmmm...actually, no, I don't think so. There are some "risque" scenes/subject matter that are actually rather integral to the story line, but absolutely no nudity.

I heard there was nudity in it, is that right?

In reply to CharityHawkins@TheHomeschoolExperiment. That's funny, Charity! :) I've actually never read the book (I should), so I have NO idea if the musical is representative at all. But, hopefully, it won't disappoint!

Thanks for this review. My husband LOVES this book, and I thought about taking him to see it for Christmas. I think I will (after Christmas day, maybe that next week while babysitting grandmas are still around). In fact he’s making me read the book, so I’d love to see the movie to have some clue what is going on. (By “read the book” I mean he reads to me before bed and I promptly fall asleep. So a little help on plot would be a good thing.) Thanks for sharing!

Geesh, when you mention no dry eyes. I’m in trouble.

I mean the mere mention here of “… like Anne Hathaway (Fantine) and her raw, gut-wrenching performance of ‘I Dreamed a Dream'” I started getting choked up just thinking about it!

Can’t wait to see it! Wonderful review, Sara!
