So, where are all my gardeners or gardening hopefuls?! A couple years ago, we built a little backyard vegetable garden. I loved our little garden. But, then we had a few issues with it, had another baby, had some medical crises…and our little garden was no more. I’ve been feeling ready to give it a go again, but want to try a raised-bed! We’ve got HARD soil here in the Arizona desert. So, I think raised-beds would really make a lot of sense here.Â
Thankfully, we’re going to have some step-by-step help with the WHOLE process (from planning & the design to the actual building). And, YOU can get all the instructions too (and for free)! Lowe’s has partnered with Craftsy (a creative online course site) to bring you FREE online classes! Right now, you can join us on learning how to make a raised-bed garden OR how to make custom built-in shelves.
With this FREE Online Course, you get:
- 7 HD video lessons with anytime, anywhere access
- Class materials, including supply lists, instructions and crop rotation tips
- Hours of close-up instruction
- Answers from Karen Chapman and Andy Chapman in a virtual classroom (Karen and Andy have quite an impressive background in their areas of expertise – and with what I’ve viewed of the course so far, it’s REALLY great!)

We can’t wait to get our bed(s) built and have some little plants growing again! Gardening is such a great thing to involve the boys in. They’re excited to help us build the beds and go pick out plants/seeds. Plus I’m excited to use our garden marker stones again! 😉
So, I’ll be documenting our progress and the final project in the next few weeks! If you’ve been thinking about a raised-bed, now is the perfect time! Get it built now & put your plants in so you’ll have fun things to harvest later this summer! Simply register for the Craftsy course through Lowes.com and get started!
Do you have a raised-bed garden? Or, are you excited to build one?
Disclosure: This post is part of a sponsored campaign with Lowe’s. However, all opinions and experiences are entirely my own.

We have LOTS of garden space and almost all in raised beds. 🙂 But nothing as pretty as his. 😉 So much easier on us old folks. LOL.
I just love raised bed gardens – I think they are so pretty!
Our soil is kinda wonky so I’ve always wanted to add raised beds to our garden. Thanks for the info!
Thanks Sara! I could really use this!
I grew up with raised bed gardens at our house so I LOVE them!
My husband and I have been wanting to do this! I’m going to have to check out those classes!
