We’re headed on our very first cruise in just 10 days!!!! To say we’re excited is an understatement! Cruising is something I’ve been interested in trying for years, but it just hadn’t happened yet. Then, a magical invite hit my inbox – for the #LetsGoCarnival blogger retreat with SJ Consulting and Carnival Cruise Line. Woohoo! First cruise here we come! Carnival-MagicWe’ve been counting down the days ever since – and doing lots of cruise research! We’ll be on the Carnival Magic, cruising on the 7 Day Western Caribbean from Port Canaveral. The whole family is coming and we cannot wait to experience all the Magic has to offer! Ironically, one of my other blogger friends is cruising on the Carnival Magic right now! Destiny from Just Destiny Mag has been sending me awesome ship photos (used here in the post – Thanks, Destiny) and it’s only adding to our excitement. So, we’ve been talking to friends, reading details about the ship, watching YouTube videos and pinning all kinds of cruising blog posts! With that, we’re making our very own Carnival Magic To-Do List with all the things we’re hoping to see and do as part of our first-ever cruise experience. Here’s a look at our list – Carnival Magic Cruise To-Do List

Carnival Cruise To-Do List:

Take a Ride Down the Twister Waterslide & Play at the Waterworks Waterpark!
At 312 feet long, perched high atop the ship, the twister waterslide sounds like some adventurous fun while out at sea! When I showed the boys the pictures, they could NOT believe we could ride waterslides on a ship! And doesn’t this one look like serious fun?!

But the water fun on the ship doesn’t end with just 1 waterslide. There are actually multiple slides, as part of the whole Waterworks Waterpark area and there is even an Aqua Play splash park for the kids – plus pools! So we are super excited to enjoy some epic water play on the ocean!

Get Tasty Eats at Guy’s Burger Joint and Guy’s Pig & Anchor Bar-B-Que
We’re big fans of good burgers and bar-b-que. So, these two fairly new restaurant additions to the Carnival Magic sound REALLY super tasty. Made to order burgers and authentic bar-b-que in an open air setting on board both sound SUPER delicious! Pretty sure the  Mac Daddy Mac ‘n Cheese side will be a HUGE hit with our boys!

Visit Camp Ocean
We’re pretty excited to learn that Carnival ships have great camps for kids – all included in the price! So, Mr. Mom Endeavors and I are hoping to send the kids to camp ocean for playtime while we enjoy some adults-only time (something that rarely happens for us, especially on vacation). Date day on a ship?! Yes, please!

We’ve already watched some YouTube videos of Camp Ocean and the boys were SO excited! Camp Ocean is available for ages 2-11 and the kids are separated by age group. Baby Brother is looking forward to being a Penguin; Little Brother will be a stingray; and Big Brother will be a shark! From the sounds of it, there are crafts, playtime, video games, and even educational activities! So, we’re eager to check this out!

Indulge at Swirls
Now, I’m sure this is nothing new or particularly thrilling for regular cruisers. But, for us first-timers the idea of frozen yogurt and soft-serve ice cream served 24/7 is pretty fun! We’re going to have to be careful with this and the boys – they’re going to want ice cream all the time! 😉

Explore Ports with Shore Excursions
During our 7 day cruise in the Western Caribbean, we have the opportunity to explore 4 different ports (in 3 different countries):

  • Costa Maya, Mexico
  • Mahogany Bay, Isla Roatan
  • Belize
  • Cozumel, Mexico

So excited!!!! We’re looking forward to some amazing shore excursions that include visits to Mayan Ruins and a jungle river cruise! Then of course, we’re planning some amazing beach time and hoping to get some snorkeling in too!!!

Hanging out with friends & networking with other bloggers
This cruise experience will be extra fun (and a little unique) because we’re going to be traveling with about 15 other bloggers and their families. Some are already good friends and I can’t wait to get to know everyone else! A retreat setting with other bloggers is always great for networking, sharing ideas, and connecting! So, I’m thrilled that we’re going to have the opportunity to do that – especially in such an amazing setting!

And speaking of connecting – we’d LOVE to have you connect with us for a #LetsGOCarnival Twitter Party before we set sail!!!

  1. I’m so excited to follow along your adventures! My parents love cruising and took me on a few when I was younger, it was a great way to explore many different places on one trip!
