Newly Released Disney Blu-ray/DVD Gifts for the Holidays

Do you have favorite little (or big) Disney fans in the house that would love a new movie in their stocking or as a fun gift this Christmas? We don’t have cable, so we love getting movies as gifts. The boys absolutely love the Disney Junior Shows, but with no cable, they only get to watch whatever DVDs we have at home. So, Jake and the Never Land Pirates DVDs are a big hit around here! I love too that so many of the Blu-ray/DVD combo packs now come with digital copies – those are awesome to travel with. Over the past few months, there have been A LOT of Disney movies/shows released to DVD or Blu-ray/DVD Combo pack for the first time ever. So, I rounded up a list with a whole bunch of the newly released Disney Blu-ray/DVDs that would make great gifts this holiday season (*some are affiliate links)!! Disney Movies Gift Ideas

JakeAndNeverlandPiratesNeverLandRescueDVD Jake and the Never Land Pirates: Never Land Rescue (released 11/19)

In “Jake and the Never Land Pirates: Never Land Rescue,” Jake embarks on his most heroic mission ever as the magic of Never Land begins to disappear just as the ancient Forever Tree seems to be fading away.  After a mysterious figure known as “The Guardian” arrives to explain that only the pirate who truly believes in himself can save Never Land from vanishing completely, Jake must break off from the rest of his crew and go alone on a mission to save the Forever Tree, the source of magic throughout all of Never Land.  Guiding Jake on his quest is Tinker Bell, who makes her first-ever appearance in the series.

The boys LOVE this movie! Of course, they love just about anything “Jake” as evidenced by their Jake and the Never Land Pirates birthday!

The Little Mermaid II: Return to the Sea

All of your favorite characters from The Little Mermaid continue their adventures in this enchanting sequel to one of the most celebrated animated films of all time.  Even though her parents tell her merpeople and Atlantica are just “old fish tales,” Ariel’s daughter, Melody, dreams of being part of that magical world. In an unforgettable story that will take your breath away, all the good creatures on the land and under the sea must join forces to show Melody that both her worlds can live in perfect harmony.

The Little Mermaid: Ariel’s Beginning

One of Disney’s most beloved characters reveals the extraordinary events that led up to her transformation into a princess!  Long before Ariel walked on land and into Prince Eric’s heart, she was one of seven beloved daughters of powerful King Triton. But times were troubled in the underwater kingdom – and music was banned! In this magical adventure, Ariel, her fun-loving sisters, and her loyal friends Sebastian and Flounder strive to bring music and friendship back to Atlantica. Featuring breathtaking animation – and some thrilling surprises – The Little Mermaid: Ariel’s Beginning is an enchanting tale you’ll share with your family again and again!

I don’t know if we’d been living “under the sea” (or under a rock or where), but we didn’t even know that these movies existed until this fall! Given that I have a house full of boys, these weren’t as big of a hit as some of the others. But, the movies are still cute and would be a great part of a “Mermaid” gift pack for Christmas!
