The Amazing Spider-Man Family Fun Night #SpidermanWMT

Do you have any Spider-Man lovers in your house? Iron­i­cally, Big Brother has never even seen any Spider-Man movie or car­toon, but since start­ing Kinder­garten has been obsessed with it! Appar­ently they play Spider-Man on the play­ground! So, when given the oppor­tu­nity to have a Spider-Man fam­ily fun night in antic­i­pa­tion of The Amaz­ing Spider-Man DVD release (which is TODAY! Fri­day, Nov. 9th), I couldn’t resist.

Here’s how every­thing transpired…

Sony Pic­tures sent us a copy of The Amaz­ing Spider-Man early to enjoy and we had a whole fam­ily fun Spider-Man night. To get sup­plies for our “party”, I headed to Wal­mart. (You can see the whole shop­ping trip in this Google+ album). I had the boys with me on this lit­tle shop­ping adven­ture and you can imag­ine their excite­ment!! They even each got to trade their Hal­loween candy for a Spider-Man fig­urine! For the food at our lit­tle fam­ily fun night, we got Mar­ket­Side pizza & bread­sticks. And, the pizza wasn’t just any pizza! There actu­ally is a whole cool Spider-Man Aug­mented Real­ity App that goes with the movie and the Spider-Man Mar­ket­Side pizza boxes! There was a big Spider-Man dis­play above the pizza area to give some details. But, basi­cally, you can down­load The Amaz­ing Spider-Man Aug­mented Real­ity App on either iphone or google play store. There are some fun lit­tle things you can do within the Web Slinger app alone. But, there are spe­cial trig­gers that do some pretty amaz­ing things! While shop­ping through the store, you can find trig­ger points to unlock pages to cre­ate your own cus­tom comic book (yes, that’s me as Spider-Man, lol!).Then, you can acti­vate the Aug­mented Real­ity expe­ri­ence from home by hold­ing your movie cover & pizza box near each other and hov­er­ing your phone over it with the app open. 3D scenes sud­denly come to life–which the boys thought was per­haps the coolest thing ever!! After all of that tech­no­log­i­cal fun, we finally got around to some eat­ing! The spread was just our pizza, bread­sticks, veg­gies, and then our super fun Spider-Man spi­der­web pret­zel pops (click that pret­zel pops link to get more details)! Every­thing tasted great and the Spider-Man pret­zel pops were a HUGE hit!!! The boys had a won­der­ful time. There were a lot of “cools” and “awe­somes” and it got two very enthu­si­as­tic thumbs-up! Then after they went to bed, Mr. Mom Endeav­ors and I enjoyed a lit­tle at-home date night by watch­ing The Amaz­ing Spider-Man. It was a great night!!
