Easy Fresh Fruit Dip {+ Safeway National Dairy Month Promo}

Sum­mer is the per­fect time for eat­ing lots of fresh fruit! Even though we cer­tainly eat a lot of it year round, it seems like the vol­ume of fruit con­sump­tion is upped quite a bit in the sum­mer! And, did you know that dur­ing the sum­mer, June specif­i­cally, is National Dairy Month?! Last year, I was an ambas­sador for Safeway’s June Dairy cam­paign and I’m back at it again this year! So, we’re kick­ing things off this year with this super quick & easy, per­fect for sum­mer (and per­fect for dairy month), fresh fruit dip recipe!

Fresh Fruit Dip

Ingre­di­ents:

- 1 8oz. con­tainer of cream cheese (room temp.)

- 1 C marsh­mal­low creme

- 2 or 3 T orange juice (depend­ing on how much cit­rus fla­vor you like)

- 1/2C — 1C drained crushed pineap­ple (I just used the whole lit­tle can since we love pineapple)

Direc­tions:

SO easy! Com­bine all ingre­di­ents into a medium-sized bowl. *Note: it works bet­ter if the cream cheese is more at room temp vs. straight from the fridge. Stir well–or for extra creami­ness & less lumps, beat for 1–2 min­utes. That’s it! Then, chill & serve with your favorite fresh fruit. We think it’s espe­cially good with straw­ber­ries and fresh pineap­ple! And, it works GREAT as the cream base for a fruit pizza!

Safe­way June Dairy Promo

From May 30-June 30, 2012, you will receive TWO movie vouch­ers when you spend $40 on par­tic­i­pat­ing dairy prod­ucts at Safe­way (or any of its affil­i­ates).  Safe­way tracks the dairy month promo progress right on your Safe­way Club Card, so you can spend the $40 in one trip or across mul­ti­ple shop­ping trips through­out the month. Your cur­rent dairy spend­ing total will show up on the bot­tom of your receipt (ex. “you have spent $12.50 out of $40 in par­tic­i­pat­ing June Dairy items to earn two Free Movie Tick­ets.”). Another cool thing about the promo is that you can take advan­tage mul­ti­ple times, as you’ll get two movie vouch­ers every time you hit the $40 mark on par­tic­i­pat­ing dairy prod­ucts!!  You can visit June Dairy Movies to get more infor­ma­tion on the promo!

The store made it very easy to find/notice the par­tic­i­pat­ing items in the promo. There were large signs through­out the dairy sec­tion men­tion­ing the pro­mo­tion. In addi­tion, each par­tic­i­pat­ing item tag had a spe­cial blue por­tion (see the arrows above), iden­ti­fy­ing it as a June Dairy promo item. For the fresh fruit dip, both the orange juice and the cream cheese were par­tic­i­pat­ing items! I love pro­mos like this on food that I buy any­way! A sweet lit­tle reward and great way to cel­e­brate National Dairy Month!
