Holiday Side Dish - Bacon Cranberry Almond Green Beans
A delicious green beans side dish, perfect for holiday meals.

approx. 2 pounds whole green beansends removed
1/2 to 1cupdried cranberries
salt and pepper to taste
In a large pan, cook the bacon until crispy. Remove bacon from pan and cut/crumble. Set aside.
Place green beans (if frozen, thaw in microwave first) in the pan with the bacon grease and sauteé until heated through (don't overcook).
Transfer green beans to a medium baking dish. Toss in bacon, cranberries, and slivered almonds.
Serve warm immediately or place in the oven for about 10-15 minutes to warm before serving.
For holiday meals, it might not be possible to serve immediately. So under cook the green beans in the pan and then heat everything in the oven for just about 15 minutes (at between 250-350 degrees) before serving.
