Winnie the Pooh Sweet Hunnycomb Treats (with FREE printable) #DisneyWinnie

Today I’m sharing some sweet “Hunnycomb Treats” (as part of a sponsored campaign with Blueprint Social for Disney) to celebrate the release of  The Many Adventure of Winnie the Pooh on Blu-ray/DVD Combo pack! The movie hits stores on August 27th and these treats are perfect to go with your movie watching (or any Winnie the Pooh party)! We love this willy, nilly, silly, old bear! So, The Many Adventure of Winnie the Pooh is a classic favorite around here! I love watching it with the boys. One of the many silly things in this Winnie the Pooh adventure is Pooh Bear’s quest for honey hunny! The scene with Pooh trying to disguise himself as a little black rain cloud is a favorite, as is the “rumbly in my tumbly” song! So, anything “hunny” related is the perfect fun food to serve up while watching The Many Adventure of Winnie the Pooh! I’m sure Pooh Bear would love these honeycomb treats! 
The Monsters University cereal treat bars were such a hit that I decided to do something similar for our Winnie the Pooh-watching fun! Making the bars is simply the class “cereal treats” recipe with a different cereal:

Ingre­di­ents:

• but­ter
• marsh­mal­lows
• Honeycomb cereal

Direc­tions:

First decide what thick­ness of cereal bar you’d like. Because I was mak­ing them for young kids, I decided to make them in a 9×13 pan to make them fairly thin. But, the “nor­mal” recipe isn’t enough then. If you like them thicker, then I sug­gest a square 8×8 or 9×9 pan! So…

• For thicker cereal bars in a square pan, use approximately 3T but­ter, 4C mini marsh­mal­lows, and 6 cups of cereal!
• For thin­ner bars in a 9×13, use about 1/4 C but­ter, 5–6 C mini marsh­mal­lows (almost the whole bag), and about 8 C cereal (almost the whole box).

Start by greas­ing what­ever pan you’re using with some but­ter. Then, melt your but­ter in a pot on low heat with the marsh­mal­lows, stir fre­quently. Once that is gooey & melty, stir in the cereal until it’s all mixed together well. Spread the mixture into the greased pan and smooth down as best you can. I rec­om­mend spray­ing a lit­tle non-stick cook­ing spray on your hand or on a piece of foil for press­ing every­thing down. (*Note- you can put down foil, parchment, or wax paper down into the pan first, but make sure it is greased!).  At this point, you can do a number of things… ball sections up and put on stick, let cool and cut like bars, let cool and place in treat bags, or even dip into some yellow melting chocolate for a little added “honey” look. I decided on a couple of different versions.

First up, I wanted to try them dipped in the yellow melting chocolate. I just melted the chocolate in the microwave according to package directions. Then I took some chunks of the cereal treats, sort of forming them into round shapes, and dipped it in the yellow chocolate. It definitely helps add a little illusion of honey. For just family movie watching, these would be cute as-is just stacked on a tray or plate! If you were doing a party though, wrapping them in cellophane or putting them in treat bags might be the way to go. My treat bags were a little smaller than I’d like, but they still fit some smaller bars nicely. You could do the dipped version or just plain on these – totally up to you! And, every cute treat bags needs a cute label, right?! Since we love that little “rumbly in my tumbly” tune so much, I thought it would be perfect!
