Less than two weeks before Baby Brother ended up making his big debut, we finally got the opportunity to head over to Wet ‘n Wild Phoenix to check out the newest attraction that opened this summer: Wet ‘n Wild Jr!

We actually lived very close to the water park during their inaugural season & had season passes. At the time Big Brother was just a little over 2. And, although we still managed to have lots of fun while we were there that summer, I really felt like they were missing a nice place for the littlest of water park goers to play. So, I was thrilled to hear that they were opening Wet ‘n Wild Jr. and we had two little guys who were very eager to check it out!

Wet ‘n’ Wild Jr. is sort of like its own kid sized water park within the park, created especially for kids and families. It features some miniature kid-friendly versions of some of the park’s most thrilling attractions (riders must be at least 36″ tall for all the slides), like:

Tiny Typhoon: Spins riders through a miniature funnel before dropping them into the waters below.

Screamin’ Streamers: Downhill river rafting ride for the entire family. Riders experience small turns and slight drops before plunging into the water below.

Banzai Racers: Racing slides for the park’s youngest visitors. Banzai Racers allow riders to compete side-by-side on a racing mat before splashing into the water below.

The Banzai Racers were our little guys’ favorites! It was SO nice that the slides were small enough that Little Brother could go down on his own. The lifeguards on this one did a great job with the littlest ones! The boys went down these slides over and over again. Then, Big Brother decided that the Screamin’ Streamers looked pretty fun too & he went down with daddy.

There was a lot of shade & seats in the area, from which you can see just about all of the attractions. Perfect for super pregnant mamas that need to sit for a minute! 😉

The area also has some fun spray zones & water features! The boys had a lot of fun splashing in the “sprinklers” too! The hardest thing about it was reminding them not to run! LOL!

I’m SO glad that they’ve opened an area devoted just to the little ones like this. I think it really makes the park more appealing to families with kids of all ages vs. just families with a bit older kids. For our family, it definitely makes us more likely to get season passes again!

  1. I have a 5 year old and a 3 year old. I’ve been wanting to check it out but prices are a bit steep for us at the moment. This would be a great way to do that!

  2. I love the red innertube twisty slide by the wave pool. I think the new Wet N Wild Jr would be perfect for my kiddos.

  3. Hi! I have a 7 yr old and 3 1/2 yr old, and we’ve never been to Wet ‘n Wild, so now that they have this toddler area, I would love to check it out. 🙂

  4. We have been trying to decide if we should check out Wet N Wild, the cost is the part that scares me with 4 children.

  5. Wow – the timing is great! My husband and kids are planning a trip next week. My daughter has been previewing slides on YouTube for a long time to get ready!
