I know, I know…in most of the country it probably seems anything but spring-like. However, here in the sunny desert it most definitely is! Here’s a look at one of the trees in our backyard:So, I don’t know if it’s the blooming flowers, the gorgeous weather, or pregnancy nesting hormones kicking in, but I am SO in the mood for some spring cleaning! Primarily, I’m SO feeling the need for purging all the excess stuff. So, we’ve rounded up some boxes (nothing cute or fancy) and have designated them “Keep, Toss, Donate, and Sell”. Now, we need to get started going room to room!

Keep: Things that go into this box are things we want to hang on that either currently don’t have a place (& need one), or things that we can recycle/reuse for some other purpose.

Toss: Pretty obvious. There are random parts, broken toys, expired goods–things that need to be tossed. So, we’re tossing those into this box and can go through it to properly dispose of everything. Many things will undoubtedly be able to be recycled and certain expired medications & such need to be disposed of properly.

Donate: This box is for those things that are too nice to trash, but not nice enough to sell.

Sell: This is the “found money” box. I’m sure we all have things sitting around the house that can be sold, some for a pretty penny–so, it’s like found money! 🙂 It seems like there are always more opportunities for selling things during the spring & summer months through garage & consignment sales. But, you can start selling right now on eBay (if you’re new to selling on eBay, here are some beginner tips). We’re planning to fill this box & then get started with listing items!

The thought of getting things more organized, clearing the clutter, and (hopefully) making some money in the process sounds FANTASTIC! So, I’m all about the spring cleaning!

How about YOU? What are your favorite strategies for spring cleaning & clearing the clutter?

  1. LOL. look under Toss: category…. *broken toes* …. get tossed?
After the last big snow melted it is beginning to look like spring. 🙂 I do have several boxes lined up in the D.R. waiting to be filled and sorted as I clean. So many too small clothing items and those I have not worn in years. The closet is bursting. I have WAY too MANY stamp sets I don’t used. May have to look into e-bay. (So far I have been a real chicken.) Hugs…

    1. Bwahahaha! That is one of the funniest typos I’ve had I think. Thanks for the catch. It now appropriately says, “broken toys”. Good luck getting things decluttered! 🙂
