Families looking for a place to beat the Phoenix heat and have some indoor fun this summer will love spending time at Arizona’s Sea Life Aquarium! We just went for a visit while the Octonauts were there thanks to a fun Arizona bloggers’ event and the boys had so much fun! As a mom I love a place that’s fun and educational for the kids! Arizona Sea Life Aquarium PhoenixWe spent an entire morning there and didn’t get bored. They got to touch sea creatures in the touch tanks and walk through the aquarium tunnel where sharks swam above us, rays swam below us, and we even saw a sea turtle! And, not surprisingly they enjoyed watching Octonauts in the theater and getting some energy out in the “play place” area as the boys call it! Next time we’re going to time it to be there for the ray feedings – every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday at 1:00PM! And, we also had fun trying to find the Giant Pacific Octopus (who was showing off his hiding skills while we were there). The Ocotpus Hideout exhibit is on display until December 2015. Sea Life Aquarium ArizonaIn addition to the everyday fun to be had at Sea Life Aquarium, there are a few extra special things going on the rest of this summer – starting with some adults-only fun- “Sharks After Dark“. This is a special Groupon-ticketed event (perfect for a date night). Choose from June 27th or August 29th!

Summer Camp at Sea Life

Summer Camps at Sea Life AquariumFrom July 6th- 10th, kids 7-12 can participate in 5 days of ocean-themed activities at the aquarium from 9:00am – 3:30pm daily! Talk about a fun summer camp! When I was a kid, I wanted to be a marine biologist. So this would have been right up my alley.

Shark Week!!!! Sea Life Arizona Shark WeekGotta love Shark Week, right?! Diving into the Sea Life aquarium for a visit seems like a good place to be during Shark Week. All week long there will be special feedings & talks focused on the 10 different shark species that call Sea Life Arizona home.

Homeschool Week!

If you’re a current homeschooler or plan to do so for the upcoming year (and can provide your “intent to homeschool” affidavit), you should plan to attend lessons during Homeschool Week – August 3-7th! The focus of this week’s lessons is on ocean microorganisms and their importance in ocean food chains!

And now…how would you like to head to the aquarium for FREE?!?!?

  1. We visited earlier this year, but you’re right it’s the perfect thing to do when it’s so hot outside. We love walking through the tunnel and seeing all the fish!

  2. About 1o days ago we where enjoying the aquarium at the Henry Doorly Zoo in Omaha! We do love zoos and aquariums. 🙂 That looks like a REALLY COOL one to visit.

  3. we just REALLY want to go and experience it. We’ve walked past it several times but it’s always a bit pricey…

    really crossing my fingers!!!
