Note: This is a sponsored post for Whole Foods Market Camelback in Phoenix. All photos, opinions and experiences are my own. Whole Foods CamelbackIf you live in the Phoenix area, you might be excited to know that there’s a brand new Whole Foods Market that just opened on September 18th. It’s at 20th Street & Camelback in the Towne & Country Shopping area and is a great addition to that area! I had the pleasure of previewing the store with other local Phoenix-area bloggers a couple of days before the store opened.

Prior to this visit I’d only been into Whole Foods twice (and once was in Omaha, Nebraska), so I’m fairly new to the whole Whole Foods scene. I really only knew about two things regarding the store chain (and that was mostly from what I had heard), like… 1. it’s one of the best places to find high quality organic food. 2. it’s really expensive. So, I was really interested to take a tour of the new store and learn a lot more about Whole Foods Market! Whole Foods PhoenixHere are some of my favorite features of the new store:

  • Twenty Highland Tavern: A relaxing and casual bar/restaurant with indoor and patio seating for more than 50 to enjoy a rotating selection of more than 36 craft beers on tap (with at least 20 local options), plus six wine taps, mixologist-inspired cocktails and an extensive menu.
  • Meat department: Highest quality meats, from animals raised without antibiotics and added hormones. All meats adhere to Whole Foods Market’s stringent quality standards, including a full line of California raised organic grass-fed beef and fresh California raised organic chicken that have been fed a non-GMO diet. Also available are in-house smoked meats, a full selection of pre-seasoned ready-to-cook meats and a variety of selections that are ready to take and home and prepare.
  • Prepared foods: A wide variety of everyday favorites such as hand tossed pizza by the slice or the whole pie, custom-made sandwiches venue using in house prepared meats and local Mediterra breads, and chef-inspired creations. The WOKeria features wok fired fajitas, burritos, and bowls. Seriously, how fun is a “WOKeria”?!?!
  • Hot and cold bar options: Prepared salads and rotating hot menu items featuring PlantStrong™ (no added oil) soups, salads and entrees. Other features will include a full Asian menu with sushi and a salad bar with many organic options from local vendors. (On Wednesdays, the salad bar is $2 off a pound!)
  • Full in store bakery: A team of dedicated bakers crafting handmade bread selections from scratch. In fact, this is the only store in Arizona that’s making bread from scratch daily! YUM! Delicious cakes will be made in house too including cupcakes and fresh fruit tarts.

Whole Foods CupcakesSounds great, right?! One of the best things for me was learning about budget-friendly items and general tips for saving money while shopping at Whole Foods Market. Honestly, I was surprised to see that there were actually some very affordable organic & high quality options! For the best priced items in the store, look for the red “everyday low price” stickers and the 365 Whole Foods brand label. The 365 products are the Whole Foods Market line, which is still great quality (no artificial colors, flavors, sugars, etc) at a good price. All of the items pictured below are very similar in price to regular, non-organic products you buy at any regular grocery store (in case you can’t read the prices, that’s 99 cents/pound on the rice, just over $1 on the canned goods, and $2.39 on the pasta sauce). I certainly wouldn’t call that expensive at all! 365 Products at Whole FoodsFor further savings, you can shop the sales and use the store coupons! Yes, there are even coupons for Whole Foods! You can pick up the coupon booklet in store or get it online here –> I love a good deal!

And, speaking of deal…right now you can enter to win a $500 Whole Foods gift card to celebrate the opening of the newest Whole Foods Market here in Phoenix. For more information from the Camelback store, you can follow along on Twitter and Facebook! They’re sure to post some great local deals and info on local events.
