It’s amazing how quickly things can go from clean & tidy to a total dirty mess where a house full of boys are concerned–and little boys at that! Somehow there is an attraction to all things dirty, muddy, and gross! Here’s a dirty (albeit adorable) piece of evidence from this weekend: mud_1A muddy mess! So, we have to do a lot of cleanup around here! However, cleaning is definitely not my favorite thing (nor my strong suit). But, there are some things I like to always have handy to at least try to keep the dirt and mess to a minimum.

Wipes – Between baby wipes & sanitizing wipes, I like to make sure there’s some sort of wipe nearby! Under the bathroom sink, the kitchen sink, in the family room even! I like to carry some of both in the diaper bag too! You never know when the need to clean up messes will present itself.

Cordless/Handheld Vacuum – There are many times where messes are bigger than what a paper towel or a few wipes are going to handle. But, I hate dragging out the big vacuum cleaner. So, having something that I can just grab & turn on is really helpful!

Method’s All-Purpose CleanerI’m a big fan of Method’s All-Purpose Cleaner (Pink Grapefruit is my favorite)! It’s a great non-toxic daily defense against kid messes, minus the harsh ingredients and fumes. That’s huge for me! I’m really sensitive to chemicals–especially chemical fumes. So, having something that keeps things clean, yet has a nice, non-harsh chemical scent is excellent! Plus, I love the fun colors and the fact that they use 100% recycled plastic for their bottles! Method All-Purpose CleanerMethod All Purpose Cleaner spray is available in a 28 oz. bottle and retails for around $3.99. It comes in a variety of fresh fragrances, including Clementine, Cucumber, French Lavender and Pink Grapefruit. You can also find two additional fragrances exclusively at natural food stores (such as Whole Foods Market), which are White Rosemary and Ginger Yuzu.

Also, Method is giving readers $1 off any all-purpose cleaner! Just go here to purchase and enter the code APCBLOG when checking out! I love having affordable, non-toxic cleaners to use around the kids! It’s definitely a must around here!

  1. I’m a big fan of all- purpose cleaners like Liz. It just makes things so much easier!

I’m jealous that you’re able to get outside in shorts! We can’t go out without bundling up in many layers!

  2. I recently tried method dishwashing soap and I was surprised at how little I needed to use to clean a sink full of dishes.
I usually clean with just vinegar, but love gifting healthy cleaning solutions to friends and family trying to “go green”

  3. Clementine sounds wonderful! My green cleaning service uses some wonderful non toxic cleansers, but the fragrance of clementine is one of my favorite.
