How much unused stuff do YOU have?!

Just about all of us have stuff in the house that we don’t use anymore or worse, maybe we never used the item(s) at all. Old clothes, the bridesmaid dress(es) you wore once, the shoes you HAD to have (but you never wore), movies, kid toys they don’t play with anymore, gifts that maybe weren’t exactly “you’re thing”. Somewhere in my head, I knew that it was all worth money (not to mention taking up extra room in the house). But, I was SHOCKED to find out this statistic today…According to a 2011 study from research firm NPD, the average American family has about $7,000 worth of unused stuff.

The AVERAGE family has $7,000 in “stuff” just sitting there wasting space in their house?!?! That is A LOT of money! Even if you were way below that average, that could still be like $3000! What a nice chunk of change that would be to have! PLUS, getting rid of it all would free up so much space in the house.

With my pregnancy nesting in full swing, I’ve been having the overwhelming urge to purge all our unused stuff! I think this is just the motivation I needed! Not sure how much can get done before baby comes (since we found out today it might just be a matter of a day or two), but I’m super ready to clear things out! That means it’s time to get listing on eBay!!

Maybe someday I wil get up the courage to start up an ebay sale. I certainly have enough craft and stamp items I have horded and not used. *Sigh* Someday. hugs….
