‘Tis the season for holiday baking. Delicious treats perfect for sharing with family & friends, neighbors & teachers. Family memories in the making. Since Friday’s events in Connecticut, I’ve felt an overwhelming urge (more than usual this time of year) to hold tight to the kids and relish in these precious childhood moments. And, what a better way to do that then having fun at home in the kitchen, baking up some delicious treats & making Christmas memories!
I’ve got a few new things to hopefully share with you this week (some SUPER delicious new peppermint combos we’ve been trying). But, in the meantime, here are a few favorites:
Peppermint Hot Chocolate Cookies
To help get baking ideas, Safeway’s Chef Assistant app (available in the itunes store) offers holiday recipes and tips, a baking timer, and a fun “Virtual Cupcake Decorator” that allows you and your children to decorate a virtual cupcake. Then, you can email or share the creation on Facebook and Twitter.
And, of course, there is always Pinterest too! 🙂 You can visit Safeway on Pinterest for holiday inspiration and recipes for holiday meals, sides, baking, and dessert and drink pairings – they have everything covered for you! And, right now, Safeway is having a Pin To Win Sweepstakes where they are giving away one $50 gift card each day from now through January 2! To help get our holiday baking kicked off, Safeway sent us a beautiful basket full of all kinds of fun stuff like: Red velvet cupcake mix, a Wilton decorating set, sprinkles, decorating bags and tips, no bleed baking cups, fondant shapes, sparkle gel decorators, frosting starters, and more! And, they’re giving one of you lovely readers one as well!
