Game Day Soccer TipsWe just had a big milestone in our family– wrapping up our first season of soccer. So, I’m officially a soccer mom!  Big Brother absolutely LOVED it. Given that his dad played soccer from second grade through college, I’m thinking we’ll be a soccer-family for a long time to come. So, with the World Cup coming up and our first year of soccer behind us, I was thrilled to team up with DOLE on their #GameDayGreat campaign (this is a sponsored post)! IMG_0874DOLE Fruit Squish’ems has partnered with Brandi Chastain (two-time FIFA Women’s World Cup winner and mom) and the American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO) to help soccer families across the country gear up for game days. Did you know that DOLE Fruit Squish’ems are the official snack of AYSO (who is celebrating their 50th anniversary this year)? That’s a fitting partnership! The DOLE Fruit Squish’ems are so convenient & healthy, made with all-natural fruit and no high fructose corn syrup or artificial flavors. My boys LOVE these squeezable pouches! DOLE Fruit Squish'ems #GameDayGreatStaying hydrated during the game is super important – especially here in the hot, dry Arizona desert! But, I also think that recharging after the game is important too. The Dole Fruit Squish’ems are great for that! The Squish’ems are also a great snack option for sideline “cheerleaders” too. After all, when you have little cheerleaders to “entertain” on the sidelines, packing healthy snacks for practices & games is a must! And, fruit pouches are always a hit around here! Dole Squish'ems #GameDayGreatOne of Brandi Chastain’s “Game Day Great” soccer tips actually is making sure that you have healthy snacks available! So, we were definitely doing something right this first soccer season!

Here are a few other tips from Brandi to help you & your little soccer player(s) be game day great:

  • Teach your kids, by example, how to be respectful on the field (win or lose).
  • Be physically and mentally prepared for the game.
  • Pack extra gear for game day (just in case)!
  • Check the league website (or email) for any last minute field/schedule changes.
  • HYDRATE (be sure to get in extra water before games & practices)

Dole Squish'emsThis summer, you can get more of Brandi’s Game Day Great tips on Dole’s Facebook (and Twitter pages)! Plus, DOLE Fruit Squish’ems wants to hear YOUR best tips! Head over to their Game Day Great Facebook contest at GameDayGreat.com and share your best game day tips or pre-game rituals! You could win $5,000 and a season’s supply of DOLE Fruit Squish’ems for your kids’ league! After submitting a tip, all entrants will be able to download a coupon to save $1 on a box of DOLE Fruit Squish’ems. That’s a win-win!
