A friend brought me some of these a few years back. They were so good I asked for the recipe and have been making them every year since. They are very sweet so we cut them into 12 then cut each one again into 4 to make 48 small squares in the pan.

I had molasses and cream cheese that I wanted to use up. Turned out great. I usually make molasses cookies but love the bar form. So quick from start to finish. I also had some golden sanding sugar on hand and sprinkled on top. Husband said isn’t much of a gingerbread guy. I told him it’s more of a molasses bar.

I made these yesterday and I had to bake them longer than 15 minutes. They were delicious needless to say and I will make them again.
