Sedona family travelSedona is one of my very favorite places in the entire state of Arizona. At under a two hour drive from our house, it’s an easy road trip for us with kids. Plus, there’s that gorgeous scenery! It’s no wonder Sedona is recognized as on of “America’s Most Beautiful Destinations by TripAdvisor! Just check out the view on the drive in (which my boys exclaimed looks just likes Cars Land at Disneyland)…Sedona Road TripLove it! We were invited to come up to check out the Hilton Sedona Resort & Spa. So, our last family trip of the summer was a fun weekend in Sedona! We left on a Friday afternoon and enjoyed our time up there through Sunday afternoon – just enough time for a little family fun escape! The Hilton is one of the first properties as you head into Sedona and I loved that there were some views of the iconic red rocks from the Resort property. Hilton SedonaThe newness of simply being at a hotel is so exciting for kids, so our first order of business was checking out our room and exploring the hotel. We loved how spacious it was, complete with a gas fireplace and small patio. With little ones, it is so nice to get rooms when possible that actually have a separate seating area off the bedroom. You can put the kids to bed and still have some adult time! Hilton Sedona RoomAt any hotel (after the excitement of the room), the boys of course want to check out the pool situation. The Hilton Resort & Spa had a few different pools to choose from. I was pleased to see a whole shallow play area for the kids at the main family-friendly pool. The design was neat, as the pool was two levels with a water fall in between! Hilton Sedona Resort PoolThe boys loved all that, but my favorite part of the hotel was the Eforea spa! I rarely take time out for any kind of pampering like that. So, I was thrilled to experience their Signature Full Circle massage. Oh.My.Goodness! It was incredible. I highly recommend it! You choose the oil scent that speaks most to you  – I loved mine! Then, the oils are used along with a series of different massage techniques including hot stones (which I’d never done before and felt like heaven)! Relaxing doesn’t even begin to describe it – so take some time and book this for yourself (or guys, surprise your wife with this – you can’t go wrong)! Eforea spa at Hilton SedonaNo matter how wonderful the resort is though, you can’t go to Sedona and not enjoy time outside. The scenery truly is just breathtaking. Our usual favorite spot in Oak Creek Canyon was closed this summer after a big forest and the potential for flash flooding, so we sought out somewhere new to explore! We headed down to Crescent Moon Ranch at Red Rock Crossing near Cathedral Rock. It was a great hiking spot with the kids!! Sedona with KidsWe had SO much fun exploring the area – such a great hike! Walking along the creek was perfect! The boys loved being near the water. We even stopped to dip our toes in and play a bit while enjoying the gorgeous views. Oak Creek SedonaIsn’t it beautiful?! The boys of course also loved playing on all the large red rocks too! It’s such a great area for adventuring with kids! Sedona Hiking with KidsAfter all that exploring, we worked up an appetite. Not too far outside of Sedona is Blazin’ M Ranch– a family ranch turned little western town & musical cowboy dinner show! So, we headed there for a fun family evening! Blazin M RanchWe enjoyed a fun little tractor hayrack ride, ropin’, corn hole, and walking through a very unique little hard carved museum. Then we had a chuckwagon BBQ dinner, complete with some music! The food was good (very family style BBQ) and the singers were WAY better than what I was expecting! It was a great place for a family Western night! BlazinMRanch RopinSo much fun! It was such a great weekend and a great escape from the summer Phoenix heat! If you live in the Phoenix area and haven’t been up to Sedona, you need to plan a little trip up that way (The Hilton is offering a great rate through Sept. 7th)! And, if you’re visiting Arizona, definitely try to work Sedona in as part of your trip! It’s such a beautiful place!
