eBay MoneyMakers (& a Giveaway!!)

There’s a new series about real families making money by selling on eBay: eBay MoneyMakers! It may give you some ideas or a little extra motivation to start selling in 2012!

About the Family:

The O’Briens of Westfield, Ind., Amy and Tristen, were in a bind when Tristen unexpectedly lost his job a week after their son Jack’s birth. The O’ Brien family had just relocated for a job that was eliminated soon after the move. With a new baby, the two income family  had dropped to no income and needed to generate cash quickly. The O’Briens turned to eBay to sell household items to fund their day-to-day expenses. Once Tristen’s selling proficiency increased, he turned to clearance and vintage items to resell to make additional income. He maintains a blog at http://www.theebayentrepreneur.com/. Tristen is now employed and the family continues to sell on eBay to fund their wish list, including a trip to Disney World.

Pretty cool, huh?!

I’ve bought & sold on Ebay, not big items: books & cds. I’ve only had one bad experience selling a brand new still in the shrink wrap dvd that a buyer bought had for a day & then said it was bootleg when pictures where provided….not a damned thing i could do except refund the person’s money even tho it was wrong. other than that, i havent sold anything.

I have bought several things on ebay, but only sold 2 or 3 items. The shipping rates are confusing to me – I ended up losing the profit on the things I sold due to shipping costs. The things I’ve bought though I’ve been very happy with.

I really like Ebay. I can always find items that I am looking for and the stores might not carry it anymore. I also like to sell my kids outgrown clothes and toys which then help to purchase items that they need now. I think Ebay is great.

I’ve bought and sold on Ebay ever since it opened years ago, and I’ve had mostly all good experiences. Now that we’re down to one income it is probably time for me to start looking into selling again too!

Oh… have purchased on Ebay. My best find was a playskool activity table for my grandson. I had been looking for one for months and finally found one on Ebay. I was so happy! Its great to use when you are looking for something you cant find otherwise. I always figure someone on in Ebay land must have one and be wanting to sell it. LOL

I have never bought or sold anything on ebay, but I have gone out there to look for stuff, just never have bought anything yet!
