Healthy Patriotic SnackBetween Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day, I always feel like the summer months are perfect for anything patriotic! Summer is also a season where we really crave lighter snacks and meals. So, I’ve teamed up with  Frigo® Cheese Heads® String Cheese to bring you some fun family snack recipes for the summer! We’re kicking things off with this patriotic American Flag fruit & cheese platter! I love how it turned out! Fruit & Cheese Patriotic PlatterThe colors are so pretty on this! It would be absolutely fabulous for your 4th of July festivities! And, I love that this is such a light snack. Many fun, patriotic recipes I see this time of year use marshmallows for the white. But for a better-for-you option, I LOVED using the Frigo® Cheese Heads® String Cheese in this! String Cheese is one of my boys’ favorite snacks anyway. So, combine that with the fruit and you have a really great platter (perfect for a snack or side dish). American Flag Snack PlatterThe simplicity is great too, since for this “recipe” you only need 3 ingredients. For one platter, I used a large handful of blueberries, about 1 pint of strawberries, and 5-6  Frigo® Cheese Heads® String Cheese sticks. To make your flag, make a rectangle out of blueberries. Then, start your stripes of strawberries and sliced string cheese. Place cut strawberries in a row. Then, place sliced string cheese in a row. Repeat until you have a flag! Healthy Patriotic Kids SnackThe kids absolutely loved this! We served it up after a busy day of swimming and it was enjoyed (quickly) by all the kids and adults! So, if you want a lighter, no-bake idea to bring to  the backyard BBQ, summer potluck, or 4th of July party, this platter is great!
