With Disney on the brain because of our Disney World trip for the Disney Social Media Moms Conference (and as part of a sponsored post for Collective Biasยฎ), we had fun doing some DIY Disney-inspired nail art using Sally Hansen nail products! I actually did my Minnie Mouse-inspired pedicure before our trip. Then, when we got back, we had a fun family weekend with my cousin’s high school graduation, my birthday, and belated Mother’s Day celebrations. So, I let my 10-year old cousin & her friend pick out some fun Disney-inspired nail art they would like to do and we had a girls mani/pedi afternoon! Here are the fun results:DIY Disney-Inspired Nails

There were three different themes: Winnie the Pooh, Minnie Mouse, and Cinderella. My cousin and her friend said they love Winnie the Pooh and so they each wanted to do slightly different Pooh manicures! Then we did Cinderella-inspired “fancy” toes on them. My favorite pedicure color is red, so I opted for turning my usual look into a Minnie Mouse theme! It was perfect for our Disney Social Media Moms trip!

Here’s how we created each look…Sally Hansen Nail Polish

Winnie the Pooh Nails

We started with 4 colors of Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear polishes – a yellow, orange, pink, and blue (to represent Pooh, Tigger, Piglet, and Eeyore). Color names:

  • Sun Kissed
  • Bubble Gum Pink
  • Pacific Blue
  • Mellow Yellow

Different color nails seem to be all the rage right now (a sort of “pop art” look), so the tween girls were quite excited about doing it this way! The first step was to just paint the nails those four colors. The girls decided which color they wanted on each nail and which color to duplicate. Making Winnie the Pooh NailsNext up is doing the details which make the Winnie the Pooh theme really obvious. For that, we used Sally Hansen Nail Art Pens! The pens are awesome for doing details! We wouldn’t have been able to do this without them! For these nails, we used black, white, and silver nail art pens. For the honeybees, Pooh face and Tigger stripes, we used black. One of the girls wanted black stripes for “Piglet” and one chose silver. Then, for “Eeyore”, I drew on a little silver bow. It didn’t pop as much as they wanted on the blue though. So, they had me outline it in white and put a black dot in the center. The end results are pretty fun! Winnie the Pooh Nail ArtYou can see that each girl chose something just a little different, but both are super cute! My favorite is the Pooh face and honeybees. It was a little tough trying to freehand the designs, especially on such tiny fingernails. But, I think it turned out pretty well. The Sally Hansen nail art pens worked great and the girls thought the final outcome was “so cool”!! ๐Ÿ˜‰ Winnie the Pooh Manicure

Cinderella-inspired Nails

Need:

  • Sally Hansen Gem Crush Blue “Blingtastic”,
  • Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure “Debut-tint”
  • Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear “White On”

Cinderella inspired pedicureTo create the look, we started by painting their toes white. Then once that was dry to the touch, we painted over it with the sparkly “Debut-tint”. It’s a really pretty sort of whiteish-gold sparkly polish. I have that by itself on my fingernails and really like it! Then, the last step was adding the blue Gem Crush paint on the tips! It created such a fun sparkly look in perfect Cinderella colors!

Minnie-Mouse Nail Art

Minnie Mouse Nail ArtI love the way these turned out! They were perfect for our Disney World trip! And, I think I’m going to touch them up for a Disneyland media event coming up this week! My favorite colors with a Disney theme for the win! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Need:

  • Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure “Red My Lips”
  • Sally Hansen Nail Art Pen – White
  • Sally Hansen Nail Art Pen – Black

Sally Hansen Nail ProductsI started out by just paining my toenails with the red polish. Once that was dry, I used the nail art pens for the polka dots and drawing the Mickey head. Just be sure to wait until the polish is dry before you try using the pens! I tried to rush it on one of the Mickey heads and it didn’t turn out nearly as well. But, overall, it turned out great. People were shocked to find out that I did it myself! Minnie Mouse Pedicure

Fun, right?!

If you’re interested in doing any of these fun looks or the products I got, you might be pleased to know that you can pick them up at Walgreens! The Xtreme, Salon Effects, Diamond and Insta Dri polishes are on a $1 off sale thru 5/25. Plus, the Complete Salon Manicure Polish is on sale for ย 2/$10 thru 5/25! And, there is a $1 off coupon in the Walgreens Coupon Book on all Sally Hansen Beauty Tools thru 5/25!
