Dinosaur DIY BookendsHave a baby shower to go to? Planning a baby boy’s nursery or a little boy’s room? No matter which of those scenarios apply, making some DIY bookends would be a great way to go for a unique, personalized touch! And, the best part about this project is that it is completely customizable – you could go with something softer & sweeter for a baby gift (or a baby girl) or even some sort of classic toy (I think letter blocks would be really cute)! DIY Boy's BookendsMy boys are SO excited about these dinomite dinosaur bookends! I think they’d be adorable in the right baby boy nursery too. But again, the general project can be customized in SO many ways. My inspiration actually came from Target!! Check out their cute DIY Nursery Wall Art & Bookends project:

Super cute, right?! Love it! The wall cube set shown in the video was only available online in my area. But, I found a different 2-piece wall cube set in my local Target. I love it because the small square is perfect for the bookends and the larger on is great for the wall. Then, really all you need is two figurines or toys, spray paint, and glue (most of which you can find at Target). Super easy! Making DIY BookendsPrying apart the wood block took a little bit of time (I wanted to be sure to do it carefully). But then, you just need to glue down your toys and spray paint. Once dry, the bookends are ready to use. I do recommend adding a big of foam or non-slip material to the bottom of the bookends to prevent sliding. But, otherwise, I did it just like the video shows. Quick (minus drying time), easy, and totally customizable. DIY Nursery BookendsThe boys LOVE them! If DIY bookends aren’t your project-style, then be sure to check out BabyCenter’s DIY Inspiration Pinterest board for some ideas. There are some other great, customizable ideas there too.

  1. I am planning on putting together some framed Disney Princess silhouettes for the nursery for our baby girl that we are expecting in a few months. I plan to do several other projects also..but this is the first one!

  2. I would love to make those bookends. I just had another baby and he now has his own bookcase. These would be perfect to grow with him and his collection.

  3. Love the bookends. I’m actually tackling my son’s bedroom this summer and building him a loft bed (or at least attempting to), he has so many of those action figures, I love the idea of making them into bookends and spray painting them…..I’d love to do something similar with his “old” favorites rather than toss them.

  4. I would love to repurpose some old crates into book shelves for my kids rooms. They need the extra storage.

  5. We have a lamp that needs to be change up for our granddaughter’s nursery. We are wanting to paint and add Minnie mouse theme things to it.

  6. Love this creative idea! The kids would love to help too. I would like to tackle the kids dressers repaint and refinish. I think it would give the room a nice pop.

  7. I’ve been wanting to repaint/refashion an old chandelier for my daughter’s room

  9. I would love to paint a mural in my son’s room. That will take dedication and hard work.

  10. I’m getting ready to move, so I’m trying to cut down on my projects. But I love them, so it’s tough 😉
