Are you headed to BlogHer’11 in San Diego next week? This will be my first trip to BlogHer, so I’ve been soaking up all the information, advice, suggestions, and other tidbits that I can find! Here’s my roundup of the best savvy suggestions:
First up, make sure you’ve checked out the BlogHer agenda and made some decisions before you get there. And, while you’re on the BlogHer site, make sure you keep a close eye on the Conference Promotions page in case anything else fun pops up this week! For the majority who will be bringing smart phones along, make sure to download the new BlogHer’11 app!
The gals on Mom Spark have all kinds of information including a great list on How to Prepare & What to Expect at BlogHer’11! As the post suggests and from what I’ve gathered , it is definitely clear that everyone will need a savvy swag solution–an extra suitcase/bag or a plan in place for shipping items home! If you’re feeling extra savvy with your swag, you can stop by the Swag Exchange & Shipping Center room on Sunday!
After reading blog posts and the twitter stream (which if you’re going to BlogHer and not on twitter, you MUST remedy that before leaving), it didn’t take long to figure out that a big part of the BlogHer fun is all the awesome events and parties going on! If you want to stay on top of all the party talk, one of the most comprehensive places I’ve seen is the Mom Spark Forum! Event tip: make sure you print out all your confirmation tickets and emails just in case. In this digital age, it’s so easy to rely on your phone. But, you never know when you might run out of battery or have unreliable service!
If you’re bringing the fam with you or planning a bit of extra time while in San Diego, you should check out the San Diego Blog Conference site! From shopping to dining to deals, the site is a wealth of information! I especially like the info on Sea Port Village. It’s one of my favorite places in San Diego and just a quick walk from the Convention Center! You should definitely plan a jaunt down there!
San Diego is a great city, the weather is going to be GORGEOUS (can we say highs in the 70s?!), and there will be a crazy plethora of awesome stuff to do! With the right attitude and some planning, I’m sure BlogHer’11 is going to be a blast! Still not sure? Then, make sure you check out Clever Girls’ Kristy’s guide on “How to Make BlogHer NOT Suck!” It’s definitely good advice!
