One of my least favorite things about the winter is that it also happens to be cold & flu season. No one likes being sidelined with a cold and the flu can sometimes be downright scary! So, I’m thrilled to partner with sponsor Vicks Humidifiers to share some great winter wellness care items & ideas, helping your home & family be armed for the cold & flu season! Winter Wellness Care ItemsOne of the big issues during the winter months is the dry air. Here is the deserts of Arizona, that dry air is a constant struggle. So, using Vicks Humidifiers in the house can really make a big difference! We have the Vicks® Mini Filter Free Cool Mist Humidifier in green – which my kids love (and I love the sleek design)! Vicks cool and warm mist humidifiers are helpful in attaining proper humidity levels in your home and are beneficial for symptom relief during sickness. Our pediatrician has always recommended using one this time of year to help reduce coughing/congestion with the kiddos! Then for added relief from coughs and colds, you can even use VapoSteam medicated cough suppressant with a warm mist humidifier or vaporizer! vicks humidifierOther must-haves during cold & flu season are Puffs Plus® Lotion and Vicks® VapoRubâ„¢ Topical Ointment. The raw, hurt nose that can easily come along with a cold or the flu is NO fun! So, Puffs Plus® Lotion is a great option as that little dab of lotion goes a long way to calm your sensitive nose skin! The Vicks VapoRub topical ointment can also help with some of the cold & flu symptoms, acting as a topical cough medicine with medicated vapors. Cold & Flu ItemsAnother VERY important item to have in the house, especially during the cold & flu season, is a thermometer!! We’ve actually dealt with a potentially life-threatening infection and very high fever (105.5) in one of our kids. So, I’m always very careful to make sure that we are assessing fevers when illness strikes. The Vicks® SmartTempâ„¢ Wireless Thermometer actually provides a reading directly to your phone via a downloadable app, making  it easy to take and track temperature readings for the entire family! vicks-smarttemp

If you don’t already have these items in your home, you might want to stock up to be ready to battle those not-so-nice cold & flu germs. You can get all Vicks Humidifiers and all the products mentioned at Walmart!

And then, you also have a chance to WIN IT!

  2. Must haves are chicken broth, water, tissues, thermometer and Vick’s. I really need a humidifier for cold and flu season as well as winter season in general as the air is so dry.
