The Beach House Turks & CaicosWe recently had the pleasure of visiting the Turks & Caicos Islands for the second time. This little Caribbean island has stolen our hearts, as it’s very easy to see why it consistently gets voted among the best beaches in the entire world! On this visit, we had a true beach escape in every sense of the term at our home away from home – The Beach House Turks & Caicos. The Beach House TCISitting just off the fine powdered sand and turquoise waters of Grace Bay Beach, The Beach House is in a prime location on the island. In fact, we could see one of the best snorkeling spots from the beach right out our window. Oh that view! Grace Bay BeachJust imagine getting to your room, being given a delicious complimentary rum punch (and even something for the kids) and having this be your view! Talk about a relaxing escape in paradise! Turks & Caicos Rum PunchThe appeal of the Beach House is that it is just SO charming! It’s one of Turks & Caicos only true boutique hotels, really living up to that description. With only 21 rooms, it’s small and charming. Yet, it has the amenities that one wants when staying at a nice hotel. There’s a pool, a spa, a gym, a beach-side bar, and a fabulous restaurant. The Beach House TCI PoolMy favorite thing about the resort was its charm. The slogan here at the Beach House is, “Where the rooms have no numbers”. When you stay here, you’re not just another number. With the small number of rooms, the staff really takes care of everyone. Each room is identified by a name – things like “paradise”, “coral”, “breezy”, etc. That really sets the tone for the resort and is a feature I just love! Our room was appropriately named, “ESCAPE”. The Beach House EscapeAnd what an escape it was! The 2-bedroom suite was absolutely gorgeous! We could have happily called this home for quite sometime. In this suite, you enter into a large great room with an eating area, kitchen, and sitting/entertainment area. There’s also a lovely patio area off the great room with a nice outdoor seating area. The Beach House ResortThe bedroom areas were perfect for family travel, featuring two rooms and TWO bathrooms! This is SO nice when traveling as a family! Another thing I happened to love is that they use H2O products (my personal favorite). The Beach House Family SuiteJust out from the rooms is the short boardwalk to the beach, where your private beach chairs & umbrella await! That’s right – there’s no fighting for loungers here as each room has their room name on a set of loungers at the beach! LOVE! Sadly, there was some insane rain on our days there (which is very rare for Turks) that limited our beach time. But despite the unfavorable conditions, we still had to work some beach time in! Turks & Caicos Beach HouseWith a kitchen area in the suite, you’re obviously able to hit the local markets and do some basic in-room meal prep to save money. But, there is a great restaurant on property. We enjoyed breakfast there in the mornings (included in the room rate)– where the boys were so excited to have the gardener cut us a coconut right from the tree and serve it up at the table! So fun! The Beach House TCI BreakfastThen, we had the pleasure of dining here at Kitchen 218 for dinner one night. This was a fabulous finer dining experience with some very delicious food! The conch chowder was absolutely to die for! We also split the Surf & Turf that was very good as well! I was pleased to see that they had some great options for the kids as well! That mac ‘n cheese was super tasty! At night, Kitchen 218 really has a nice vibe – there were quite a few people staying at other properties that came here just for dinner! There are some sister properties to this one on the island as well. So, guests staying at other resorts can catch a shuttle to Kitchen 218 for dinner…and vice versa for Beach House guests that would like to see other properties/restaurants!Kitchen 218 Turks & CaicosSo, if you’re looking for a beautiful, quiet, calming beach escape – we highly recommend vising the Beach House Turks & Caicos. We absolutely loved our time here!  If you’re looking for an all-inclusive with tons of activities, you’ll need to look into Beaches. But, if you’re wanting a more peaceful, charming, and less-expensive option, The Beach House is great! Although the resort doesn’t have anything especially geared toward young kids/families (like a kid club, kids activities, etc.), we still found it to be a very family friendly hotel. The staff and other hotel guests all did fine with the kids there and we never felt out of place (as can sometimes be the case at more upscale/boutique-style properties with kids).

During our stay, we even had the misfortune that the island experienced some very rare, extremely rainy days complete with airport closures, massive local flooding, etc. (which is very rain for Turks & Caicos). The entire staff went above and beyond trying to make guests’ stays as pleasant as possible. Miss Maradonna in the front office was a true gem! If flights to the island weren’t so expensive, we’d be making this a more regular family vacation – we’d go back in a heartbeat! Maradonna Beach House TCIIt really was a fabulous escape! If you’re looking ahead to your family travel plans in 2016 and 2017, we HIGHLY recommend a visit to the beautiful Turks & Caicos and a stay at Beach House TCI!
