I’m no expert when it comes to home design by any means. In fact, I often struggle with figuring out how to design a space and make it look best. Even with no trained eye though, I do like sprucing up our home spaces and trying to make things look nicer. So, when Lowe’s contacted me and issued a backyard/patio makeover challenge, I was definitely game! Their Patio Paradise Pinterest Board was filled with some great inspiration and the stores (and Lowe’s online) have out all kinds of patio furniture & decor just in time for summer! Here’s a look at what we did: Patio Makeover #SpringisCallingThe general layout is the same. But, we made some changes/upgrades that REALLY makes the space more functional and look MUCH nicer! For starters, we refreshed the comfy seating area by adding new cushions (the faded red & cream were stained and falling apart), a new rug, and a coffee table (which is really two side tables put together). The ceiling fans are actually an upgrade that we did last year as part of a patio lighting makeover! Those really made a big difference, as we had some horrible fans before! But, the place we really focused on this year is the other side of the patio – where our table is. Our round, wooden table had served us really well at our old house, but just didn’t fit this space well. So, the BIG change was getting a new table to fit the space better and creating an additional seating area. Here’s the before & after: Patio Makeover Lowe'sSuch a BIG difference! It really is our own little “patio paradise” now! We LOVE our new table! Not only does it look nicer, but it opens up the space so much! allen + roth stone patio tableThis is allen + roth Stafford Stone Oval Patio Table with the Garden Treasures Eastermoreland Textured Brown Steel Chairs (sold in sets of 4). We LOVE the look! And, it works perfectly on our covered patio. Under direct sunlight, this table does get REALLY hot (especially in 100+ degree Arizona heat). But, since we have a covered patio, this has been working perfectly for us (it really doesn’t heat up much at all unless it’s baking under direct sunlight)! The chairs we got look great with the table as well. Plus, since these chairs come in sets of 4, we had a couple leftover to create an extra little seating area. Patio Seating MakeoverWe moved the old rug over to that space. Then, we added in some planters and greenery to add to our paradise feel! And, now the space really is SO much better! We’ve already hosted multiple family get-togethers in our new space and I’m loving having such a nice patio!

  1. You did an amazing makeover to your patio! I am really impressed on how you mix and match all the furniture and decorations you have there. You have a beautiful set of chair and table, too. And those newly clothed pillows suits well with the color of the rug. Overall, it’s very inviting and gorgeous patio. Keep it up!
