It's no secret that we LOVE to travel! And, recently we've been doing a lot of talking & planning about taking some big family trips. One of the destinations that we've had some serious discussion about is Puerto Rico! Puerto Rico Family Travel IdeasAs a family traveling with young children, one big draw to Puerto Rico (the "All-Star Island) is that we can just hop on a plane & go. We can get the "out of country"/tropical beach vacation experience without needing passports or foreign currency. Love that! And, I am so interested in all that Puerto Rico has to offer! We really like outdoor exploring on vacations and the All-Star Island seems to have endless opportunities for that, including:

  • 270 miles of coastline!! In fact,  Flamenco Beach in Culebra was recently featured as one of the Top 10 beaches from Travel Channel.
  • Bioluminescent bays <—how cool is that?!?!
  • Camuy caverns that runs through the 3rd largest subterranean river in the world.
  • El Yunque, the only rainforest under US national park service, where you can climb to the clouds.

The biology teacher in me thinks all of that sounds amazing! I'd love to explore all of those places. And, our boys are certainly developing a keen interest in animals & nature. So, I know they would love all of this too! But, if you have history buffs, the old world charm of San Juan sounds great. And, let's not forget the delicious Puerto Rican food…or the rum! YUM!

We were also impressed with airfare. For the times we were looking at going, we found some really reasonable prices, making a trip a very real possibility for us! With all these world-class attractions, it seems like you can definitely Live your own 5-star vacation story in Puerto Rico.

What would you most want to see/do on the All-Star Island?
