If your kids are avid PBS Kids watchers like we are, then you might have seen the news that PBS KIDS and Whole Foods Market® have teamed up to offer families tools to support healthy eating! In fact, both PBS Kids and Whole Foods have entire sections on their websites dedicated to healthy eating tips & ideas for kids: http://pbskids.org/healthykids and www.wholefoodsmarket.com/kid-friendly. On these two sites you’ll find great resources – including nutrition tips, ideas for healthy eating a budget, and yummy recipes of course. These Whole Wheat Banana Nut Pancakes look delicious!!! Plus, there is a whole suite of materials from PEG + CAT, PBS KIDS’ newest preschool series, available online and in Whole Foods Market locations across the country this September! Have you seen the previews for PEG + CAT yet? It looks so cute! In fact, as a PBS KIDS VIP blogger, we received a screener for the show and the boys love it already! This new show debuts on PBS KIDS on October 7th and has a preschool math and problem-solving skills focus! Here’s a little clip:
I think this is going to be a great addition to the PBS KIDS line-up starting in October! In the meantime, head over to http://pbskids.org/healthykids to see all the fun PEG + CAT healthy eating activities. Your kiddos will probably love the Pirates “Great Banana” Fruit Salad Recipe! It’s a simple fruit salad recipe using bananas, grapes, peaches, and blueberries that you serve up in a fun treasure chest cup (the directions for making that are there too)!
What are YOUR tips for encouraging healthy eating for kids?
Disclosure: As a PBS KIDS VIP blogger, I received PEG + CAT promotional items. However, all opinions and experiences are entirely my own. We were HUGE PBS KIDS fans long before being a PBS KIDS blogger!
