5k Training with the Joovy Cocoon X2 Jogger

Before the holidays, I shared some of the features of the Joovy Cocoon X2 Stroller.  As I talked about then, the amazing thing about the stroller is that it actually is a 3-in-1, functioning as a regular stroller, a jogger, and a bicycle trailer. Joovy CocoonX2 ReviewIn the last post, I shared many of the great stroller features (so head on over there if you’d like some more general info). But, the past few weeks I’ve been using it as a jogger to get ready for the big, colorful 5k coming up at the end of the month! Joovy JoggerLook at Baby Brother all “snug as a bug” in there! I love that I can go out while it’s chilly out (and yes, even here in Phoenix, it has been chilly. Like actually technically below freezing, chilly! Dare I say even cold?!). He rode in comfort, cocooned in the jogger, staying nice and warm. That is such a nice feature if you want to be outside during the winter months!

Converting the stroller from its normal 4-wheel mode to a 3-wheel jogger mode is so incredibly easy. It seriously took less than 5 minutes! You just just remove the front wheels using some simple locking levers. Then, in the middle of the front, you attach the jogging wheel (sold separately). I couldn’t believe how easy & quick the conversion was! Joovy Stroller ConversionAs a jogging stroller, this really does perform quite well. It is a fixed front wheel (as opposed to a swivel wheel), which does make turning a bit more difficult. But, it’s nothing that’s problematic. It is incredibly easy to push (very little effort needed) and the kids seem quite comfortable. As far as joggers go, it performs well. If you’re looking for “the best” jogging stroller, this probably isn’t it. That’s not to say that this isn’t good (because it is), but its primary function is not just a jogging stroller. The major selling point of the Joovy Cocoon is its versatility. While I’ve used a better “just jogging” stroller, I’ve never used anything that performs this well while being able to function in 3 different capacities! In getting ready for my first 5k, it’s been great to be able to just snap in the jogging wheel and go! But, I can still use it as a normal stroller or we can do a family bike ride! Joovy Cocoon Jogging StrollerThis is definitely a great product to help keep your family on the right healthy track this new year! And, stay tuned as I’ll be sharing more in the upcoming weeks about the bicycle trailer mode!

I love it! It looks comfy for them and easy to manuever for you. My jogging stroller is 8 years old and it might be time to get a new one.
